I was referred to this location because it was the only store that had the part I needed. I entered the store and asked for a battery and alternator check. Martha came out and checked the alternator and battery. She stated they were both bad. That the alternator would be checked once again when I brought it back. I told her I had a warranty. I took the part off and returned to the store where I was assisted by Martha once again. She asked for the year, make, and model. I told her, but she misunderstood the information I provided. During that time, her tone of voice was changing, her behavior turned rude. Prior to this, I didn't have any issues with her. She couldn't find the warranty under the phone number I provided. I was told to get the license plate number or VIN because she thought I had given her the wrong information. The model was a Legacy Outback. She said those two aren't the same car. I went outside to get a pic of the plate and VIN. I came back to the manager, Phil, assisting her at the computer. Again, no luck in finding the correct warranty, so I had to purchase another alternator. As I left, I told Martha she needed to work on her attitude when dealing with customers and that she would be getting more complaints with that type of service. Her only response was have a good day. I left that store and had to go back to where the alternator was originally purchased, on 1122 S State. Thankfully, Alex was able to locate the warranty and provide proof of purchase. I then went back to the store located on 4500 S State to request a refund on the alternator I had purchased. I asked to speak to the manager to make sure my transaction was done correctly and make a verbal complaint about Martha's behavior. He stated she had been talked to and overheard her when she was assisting me. I will avoid this store in the future due to bad customer service from Martha. According to reviews, Martha has three prior bad incidents, this making it the 4th. At this point, it's beyond a coaching or training opportunity, being employed for at least 7 months. According to reviews dating back. One would think that after 7 months of employment, a warranty could be pulled...
Read morePhil helped me the other day. I gave him part numbers and referred to a quote a sent to my customer using first call online. From the total of the quote, it came to $69.xx. Now, Im located in west valley so my store is #2873. When I ordered these parts online, I noticed they were at the warehouse and I wouldn’t get them until the morning cause of how late it was. I called my store and they confirmed it wasn’t gonna be in the store till the morning. I then asked if there are any other stores around that had them so I could finish the job same night. They replied, Murray on state. Phil brought the parts and rang them up and as I was paying for them, I realized I just charged $109.xx to my card. I looked at the receipt and yes, the part numbers matched but the prices were higher. I thought in my head “I should’ve paid a little over $69.xx, taxes can’t be $20. I sat with Phil and compared the price I sent to my customer with the part numbers with what reflected the quote I pulled off first call. He couldn’t figure it out. Neither could I. He ended up price matching the price on first call and referred me to my sales rep to look further into it. I get the parts to the garage and the first thing they say is “oh, you for the good stuff.” I then figured it out. The part numbers were matching, the reason the prices were higher is cause they were a higher quality part. I follow up with my store the next day... they new EXACTLY what went wrong and taught me how to better read differences...
Read moreI used to love and use O'Reilly's all the time. They've been my go-to for years. Until the last couple. After my experience today, they've lost a customer. Specifically the store on State St and 4500 S in SLC. Last year I went to O'Reillys to get my headlight bulbs replaced. The guy handed me a bunch of parts when he was done! I had my mechanic put them back in. All was well, until my headlights went out again last week. Just past the year warranty. So, Saturday I went to this location to get my headlight bulbs replaced. Jennifer helped me install them, as it can be tricky. On Sunday, as I was driving, I suddenly smelled this horrible burning smell. I checked and the passenger side bulb had fallen out of the case and burned/melted. I know the bulbs can be hard to fit and are in a tricky position, so I wasn't upset. I just figured I'd get a replacement. The man did the exchange, but didn't offer to help me install them. I figured I could do it myself in the parking lot. Well, in the process of trying to get it to fit, I dropped the bulb. I tried to get it out and it fell even further into my engine. So I went back inside and asked for help. I was told I could BUY a new bulb. When I said I just needed help getting it out, the same guy told me he didn't touch the cars. So not only did he not refund me or even find someone to help, he refused to help me. I'm done...
