I'm honestly beyond tired of going to use the self check out and having to be hand checked out by a rando employee. I like the self check out because I don't want to talk to random employees. Especially not at THIS five below specifically. They are EXTREMELY rude. When I say I "DON'T GET" why they have them close down I definitely NEVER thought the rando employee owned the store. 😂🤣😂🤣 They don't even check you out at real cash register they just make their employees use the self checkout for you. 😂🤣😂 Extremely childish and uncomfortable. Not to mention the kiosk is designed for the person standing and scanning to be the one scanning their card. So the employee either has to step back or you almost have to hug them to scan your card. Then if you look annoyed or in this case say, "This is weird and uncomfortable. Why waste millions of dollars on kiosks you don't use? They have ALL been closed for months. They don't really have a store feedback option soooooo idk. Also again, as I have mentioned in previous reveiws this stores policies aren't actually posted anywhere... So I'm not sure how your customers are supposed to have already known your policies before having even entered your store? aAso you can look up policies on Google if you want to but the policy is whatever the random employee says it is at the time. Which again is interesting because they, "dOn'T mAkE tHe PoLiCiEs." Tbf if you did, I'm sure the pay, and the amount of work to benefits and days off would be better. If you don't make the policies... wILD that you would be so offended and die for them. I literally even said, "Oh, obviously no one blames you or things you own five below... 🤣 But I feel like if enough people complain we will get them back." But you couldn't hear me because you were to busy yelling about how personally offended for Five Below you are... when you don't make the policies. 😂 What are you offended about them if you didn't make the policy why fight for it. Most people just say, "that's crazy." Don't worry I'll be calling the proper people to report this policy problem I have to. 🤣😂 I'll let them know how willing you are to yell at customers to defend them too. I don't know your name but your short pretty red hair and I'm too busy to deal with this attitude shouldn't be hard to describe. You were already coming off pretty busy and not wanting to deal with me is exactly why I wanted to use the self-checkout in the first place. Again you'll go to battle for their policy and all I have to do is say that you were mean to me and someone is likely to fire you. 🤣😂 Defend them all you like. I was mad at capitalism and don't get me wrong they don't care about you...
Read moreMy daughter and I went there around 6:30 to do some Christmas shopping. Everything was fine until checkout. My daughter had a $25 gift card she wanted to use the rest of then pay the rest in cash. I asked the worker if I just slide the card will it take the $25 off or if there’s something else I need to do. She said “I don’t know” and walked away. I decided to slide it and it declined. I asked her for help and she said “I don’t know. You have the wrong card or there’s nothing on it” I explained to her that I called the card and there is money on it. I just decided to put the cash in and try the card afterwards and it still didn’t work. She became annoyed with me so I told her never mind and I’ll just use my debit card. She LAUGHED at me. I didn’t get her name but she was working the register area and she had black hair and was wearing white and black plaid PJ pants. I wasn’t the only customer she made mad either. If she doesn’t want to work on customer service, she shouldn’t. She made my daughter super upset and we WILL NOT be back if she is working. I tried calling the store to put a complaint in and never got through to anyone. Store policies I can understand if there was genuinely nothing she could do about the gift card. What I don’t understand is her being downright RUDE to my daughter and I...
Read moreOkay so they usually have some decent finds here, especially for kids. But the last time I went, they had a terrible selection and were sold out of a ton of stuff. I'm sure they aren't getting inventory as regularly right now due to covid, but the place was a mess. With empty spots and stuff out of place.
And then to top it off, the checkout stand did not give me my change back! I had to wait for a cashier to come to me, explain that I was owed $13 something in change, and then wait for him to get his manager. They disappeared for quite a while in the back. Reviewing cameras maybe? I don't know. It was rather frustrating. Finally they open the change dispenser and see that there is no money in it. Could have done this to begin with, I think.
I also feel like the shop gets way too crowded. People are shoulder to shoulder in there, some of which do not wear masks properly, so it feels a bit overwhelming and I get a little claustrophobic.
Overall, if you are looking for some cheap gifts, this is a great place to go. You can usually get some neat things. Especially when it comes to speakers and headphones. Fun little tech gadgets that teens love. But limit your trips if you are trying to keep your exposure to a minimum. You never know how long you'll be stuck in this...
