Pet Adoptions with Fur Babies Rescue/Petco is a Nightmare :
Update: As April 2021 I have yet to receive any assistance from Petco as far as a refund or help to make right an adoption gone criminal by Delsie Lewis at The Muskogee Petco store. She took my adoption money I paid upfront AND kept the dog Eddie I adopted at Petco. Neither Delsie Lewis or Petco has even tried to make it right. Delsie Lewis evades Service of a Lawsuit Complaint ..and Petco completely ignores everything.
As of January 1, 2020, I have yet to receive a refund of the money I paid to Furbabies Rescue for the Beagle I paid for and adopted and NEVER received from them in Muskogee Petco in early 2019. I have an adoption contract and receipt of payment. Delsie Lewis from Furbabies has not responded to my correspondence and letter for request for reimbursement.
Petco is fully aware of the fact that Furbabies took my adoption fee and never gave me the dog or refunded my money. The manager of Petco herself called Delsie Lewis and talked to her ... Delsie Lewis ONLY had one thing to say:. She told her to tell me :. Have her call my lawyer. That was it. She did not even try to be professional or attempt to fix the situation in anyway.
Petco still partners and does adoption days with Furbabies despite the fact they know full well about their unprofessional and uncaring treatment of the people that adopt dogs in their store from Furbabies. Obviously they do not care. They must receive a portion of the adoption fees and that is all they care about. Furbabies Rescue nor Petco have offered to make right this situation.
I paid in cash the DOG adoption fee at Petco, I never received the dog I adopted, and I have yet to receive any dog or a refund. They will not even tell me what happened to Eddie the Beagle or where he is or even if he is okay. Neither Furbabies nor Petco have offered to rectify the situation so I am forced to file a lawsuit on both Furbabies and Petco as adoption partners .. as advised by a lawyer. Maybe a County Judge can get them to care enough to act professional and treat a customer properly.
Furbabies Rescue does not appreciate the people adopting from them. They are just about money ... Otherwise they would have the courtesy to contact me and treat me with respect instead they just act like criminals hiding and ignoring my correspondence.
If they can treat a customer and adoptive dog parent in this manner in public view imagine how they treat animals in private or behind closed doors ??
I decided to adopt a rescue dog last year to help a foster child heal. Thinking a beagle would give extra love and attention to a child who really needed a loving buddy.
Instead it turned out to be this ongoing nightmare.
Wherever Eddie the Beagle is .. I hope he is healthy and happy. But from the way this rescue has treated me ... I really doubt it and I will probably never know.
**My previous review from four months ago:
NEVER adopt a dog here at Petco from Fur Babies Rescues. I made a huge mistake trusting Delsie Lewis who does adoptions out if this Petco and other places. I paid for a Beagle named Eddie, signed a contract and was supposed to bring him home that day but trusted her to keep him just until he finished medical treatments and then give him to me after so he wouldn't be subjected to extra stress being an older 7 year old Beagle mix. Well she never did. I finally call her and she was horrible refusing to give me Eddie and being abusive and taking advantage of a temporary health issue I had to lie and keep him. He is legally my dog. I consulted an attorney who advised me to sue Fur Babies Rescue for breach of contract. People who work dog rescues and with dogs are supposed to be honest, compassionate people ... Well they aren't .. I advise everyone to adopt your pets from another rescue ... Who knows what these people are capable of??? The manager of Petco called Delsie Lewis today asking her where my dog was as she still wouldn't give him to me. Now that is some really...
Read moreusually I have a great experience at petco but last night I did not so let me just give the back story just so you all understand what really happened so to begin with me and my partner were driving and I had my dog in the car so I had the windows down and according to a person that followed me they said a bag flew out my window I was not aware of it and she wanted me to go pick it up I said no cause for one I didnt even know where it happened at so I said no and she became very agitated by that and very rude but went on her way and I went on my way so me and my partner go into Petco and get what we need and were standing at check out when we turn around and she was standing right behind us like she was stalking us but this time I didn't say anything but when she noticed that we noticed her she immediately said "watch who your talking to " even though we hadn't said anything to her since the outside situation but anyways after that we start arguing and then a employee came over trying to " de-escalate the situation" but he did the opposite not knowing who was right or wrong he immediately starting saying demeaning things and was questioning my maturity which I found funny cause he did not look mature at all so I got tired of his foul mouth and i said said forget it I don't want to spend my money here because of him specifically and I put the box I was holding down and he said "good just like I wanted" and I said I'm glad and kept walking and as we were walking he was following us even those it was us that decided to leave not him telling us to so it didn't make since why he started following us but he was trying to step up to my partner and the employee ended up assaulting my partner because of how close he was following and how all up in my partners face he was ended up pretty much stumbling and shoving my partner out the door even though again he did not tell us to leave we left on our own accord and we ending up calling corporate which said they were gonna handle it and we called the police which walked in there and spoke with him as rude as he was I honestly hope the judge ends up charging him for the assault, didn't catch his name but his description three gages in each ear had a beard and bald head and was tall and looked maybe middle eastern but he might have been Caucasian but not entirely sure of his race but I'd say definitely...
Read moreHonestly, this place is ridiculous. My daughter and I went in on the 28th of July and were looking at the fish like always. The bettas were low in stock that day, maybe about 20 of them. Out of the 20 bettas, 5 of them were dead with multiple others suffering and barely breathing. It was extremely sad and broke my heart. We already bought several fish there and didn’t need anymore. But I felt so bad for them, we bought and took one of the ones that was barely alive home. My daughter was hoping to save it. We tried, but she died shortly after. This is suppose to be a pet store . The animals should be a priority and not be suffering and dying just because the employees don’t care enough to do their job. We have had numerous issues here already with customer service. One employee in particular is extremely rude and walks away every time we are trying to check out or ask for help for anything. But of course he never wears a name tag, so I can’t report him. I’m sure that’s the reason he doesn’t wear one. He’s afraid of getting reported. Kim is amazing there. She is the only one that I have interacted with that truly cares. She has wonderful customer service, but she’s the only one. What I seen this past Sunday when we went in was animal cruelty. Just letting them all sit in their bowls slowly dying and suffering, and doing...
