Old Town Antiques & Collectibles — Local services in Nacogdoches

I have never been treated more rudely in any store I have ever been in in my life. I am a musician, a teacher, and a musical instrument collector. While I have land in Nacogdoches, I do not live there, but we visit every year, and it is always a highlight of our trip there to visit this shop. I always gravitate to the musical instrument section, hoping I can find something to add to my collection. That's where I was this past Friday morning. I found a really nice accordion and began to check it out. It was priced reasonably, and I was just seeing if it was worth the money. I had been playing it for a few minutes, listening to the tone, and checking all of the keys and buttons. All of a sudden, the man at the store appeared and in a gruff and loud voice said, "Why don't you just put that down and move away from there" I told him that I was checking it out, that I had wanted to buy it. He said, "I thought that you were just back here messing around. Even still, you need to put it down because you didn't get my permission to play it." When I told him I wanted to buy it, he said, "I didn't know that. I'm sorry. But put it down and move out of that area." I said,"I WAS going to buy it, but not now!" I put it back, and and found my wife, and we left that...

I don't really leave reviews that aren't positive, but I can't go without leaving one now. Store is very full of interesting stuff, but the prices, especially compared to other places in town, aren't great. That's okay! It's on a nice part of town so I understand. The rudeness of the owner couldn't really be ignored, though. He very obviously and happily said hello to everyone who entered, but I figured he was talking to someone so he didn't really have to say hi to me, you know? But when I left, I looked him in the eye, smiled, and said "have a good one!" Crickets. Nothing. Eh, that's cool. It's hot outside, and that can make people grumpy, but if you're looking for a ray of sunshine this probably isn't the place lol. LOVED LOVED LOVED his store!! So many things to look at! I ended up getting a great deal on some old National Geographic Magazines, a folding knife, a special fishing lure, and a beautiful jewelry box.
