Whalebone Surf Shop — Local services in Nags Head

I visited Whalebone after breaking a thruster fin SUP surfing. After several other surf shops closer to home dismissed me as soon as I said "SUP surf..," Michaela at Whalebone was a tremendous help! She offered me an FCS key to take out the broken fins. I needed to get pliers to get the fin out, so after a quick trip home, I returned with the broken fin. She helped me find the right fin for my board, and even went digging in the spare parts bin to find some gently used thrusters for a fraction of the price. After a bruised body from the shorebreak wash that broke my fin, and frustration with other local surf shops turning up their nose to sup surfing, Michaela was sunshine on a rainy afternoon - literally! Her resourcefulness and assistance helped get me back in business quickly, and I was able to head back out and catch some of the afternoon goodies that delivered even more smiles. I wish there was a way to give an even better review!!!!!! Just a couple in town from NSB, Florida, wanted to teach my sisters to surf on a long board. Silly girls went in and got the wrong board. The next day we returned the board in exchange for the long board for a week, he ended up chatting it up with my boyfriend and sharing amazing surf stories together, showed us SICK photos. And got us hooked up and in the right spot to catch some great waves even on a 1-2 swell. I will return again and againjust to stop in at this amazing shop. Every worker was amazing and very helpful. Whalebone is a great place for ANYTHING you need for the beach and their logo is recognized worldwide. Jim and his staff are are professional and knowledgeable about everything in the store. I have been buying stuff there for over 20 years, including T-shirts, boardshorts, towels, and hoodies and today I just bought another hoody and two more towels!
