Pet Haven Cat Adoption Center — Local services in Nampa

Hi my name is angie I wanted to share something on here about this place. So I had to do community service there on my first day I was in shock how this place was still open or how in the world those employees are still there, once ur behind the scenes it very traumatizing. Those poor cats are in that cage all day no exercise at all they sit there for months, when I came in that day I saw so many cats and kittens that eyes were shut from them having the eye infection there were cats literally sitting in their own poop looks like week I ask if I could please wash him I could look at it they even put a towel over that cage so that customers could c him he was in such bad condition I ask her if I could foster him well when I got home with him I took him out of the cage wanted to wash him but I looked down he was dieing his eyes rolled back he was so stif I panicked but started giving him mouth to mouth cpr for about two min he was dead then i finally saw him moving and breathing thank god for that imagine how bad they had him not just that they never let him out he couldn’t balance or walk to his litter box I started doing leg exercises and stay out side with him thats how he learned how to walk and finally going to the bathroom on his own I took him to the clinic the next morning and they gave him medicine after he looked so good and not as skinny. The staff would literally would sit on their phones and laugh at stuff on their phones and she was the manager insane. The food and water in the cages looked like it’s been sitting there forever. They would put down so many cats I couldn’t believe everything I was seeing they need to go around and see if they have the eye infection and take a worm cloth and wipe their eyes every morning at least that at least. I honestly have worked at human society and simply cats nothing compared to this I could never complain about those places. People donate so much to them if people only knew I also bumped into a girl that week randomly she started telling me about she was traumatized about that place and those cats are suffering so bad in there I mean identical story I will be doing everything in my power to put sources together to ether shut it down and those cats could go to the other adoption centers or for sure change the staff I believe I was meant to walk in that place that week It take one...

I've only been to pet haven a few times, every single time it has had a nauseating smell of cat urine, which I understand will happen in a humane society, but I couldn't stand being there more than just a minute or two. But the main reason I am writing this review is, every other Thursday of the month, a Boise vet will come to pet haven and provide cat spayed and neuters at a "discounted price". So I decided to jump on the band wagon for the deal to get my perfectly healthy, 7 month of female feline spayed. By 2:00 pm I had my kitten home. She of course wasn't particularly wanting to eat which I figured was normal, but by day 3, I started getting concerned. I ended up getting a hold of the vet who, long story short, put the blame on me for my cat not eating. I took my cat into the vet a few separate times with absolutely no answers. But to spare the gorey details, I slowly watched my once perfectly young and healthy cat wither away and die within a week's time. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to pet haven or to try and save a couple bucks when it comes to the care of your pets. I regret the day I took my cat to pet haven. Given the fact that throughout the entire duration of my cat dying, I got absolutely no answers, so i can't pinpoint on whether it was the dr accidently cutting a wrong tube or the cleanliness of the facility. But either way, this was my experience with pet haven and I refuse to ever walk through their doors. My cat was a big part of my family and I still cry at the loss of her having such...

I love how many people care to help the animals (kitties) to enjoy their life and keeping them safe. We found 2 new loves that we have added to our furrever family and there a plenty more that i wish i could keep and care for!!

My daughter keeps asking when can we ho and volunteer!! Soon. I hope.

Our 2 have officially conquered the mew house challenge ... and they get along so great with our other fur babies.

Some may have a bit of a "kennell cough/sneeze" at 1st with the acclimation of a new environment and stress. As with any pet hotel or daycare...

The associates were kind and quick to help us get our 1 little fella back to his playful and sweet self.
