First, I'm going to start off by saying that I was so nervously scared looking at all of these horrible reviews. The reservation had already been made two weeks prior, and there were no refundsđ¤Śđžââď¸ We got there a couple of minutes before it was supposed to start. When we arrived we got greeted. They were so nice. They complemented me on my dress and earrings and let us know where to go. We walked up to the bar where they were serving complementary wine before the dinner. They even knew my nameđ (I don't know if that was because we might have been the last people coming in or not. Either way, it still felt good lolđ). The doors opened, and we were the first two through the double doors to sit side by side at the first two seats. The staff were so awesome. The show and the food were great. I'm not the biggest wine drinker, and I don't like every wine, but we got the wine with dinner, and I was impressed. There were different kinds of wine for each dish. I thought they did amazing at pairing them with the dishes. The atmosphere was great. It wasn't too loud, but the chatter was definitely in the air. The tables were very respectful and made sure that we were quiet when we needed to listen to the staff and story. People respected each otherâs space. All in all, I'm super excited that we went and were very pleased at the outcome of everything. I would definitely do...
Read moreThe food was overall pretty good, but some dishes worse than the menu listed online (For example, first course was basically an amuse bouche â and not a very good one: basically a shot glass of tomato soup. And dessert was rather ordinary yellow cake. Compare that to the ahi tuna starter and creme brulee dessert they list on their online menu...) Service was fine and the experience was unique and fun...
But the pricetag is a little too high for what it is (this costs almost as much as eating at the 3-star restaurant in the Eiffel Tower!) and the wine pairing was lackluster. (Again, wines different than online, and not for the better â instead of cocktail with the first course, you get a bit of Domaine Chandon bubbly. Instead of pinot with the duck, you get syrah for some reason... the riesling is the same, but it is bad â too hot and with industrial notes like rubber or kerosene)
Wasnât pleased that we had to wait an hour when we arrived... the website/reservation info says to be sure to show up 30 minutes before the dinner, at 5:30, so we did. When 6:00 rolled around, we were told we would have to wait some more... but they did serve some free prosecco.
The meal didnât start until 6:30, because they said they were waiting for a missing party. Online it says they wonât do this â that they will start at 6 sharp and that if you come late, you will be seated...
Read moreThe halibut and duck leg were great! The apps were meh; the crème brĂťlĂŠe is pretty standard. However, I would strongly recommend getting the 3-D animation to tie more with the specific food prepared than a generic somewhat silly story. But I guess if the restaurant wants to change the dishes, then that means changing the animation which would jackup the cost. But it would be worthwhile to do; talk about the origin of the dish, where and how the coconut milk were processed; this is a great opportunity to give the food presented some context. It doesnât need to be preachy but just focus on the development, preparation, and up the stream on the source of the...
