Didn't have breakfast and was starving so when I got here around 12 I went overboard here and ordered a breakfast tartine, which was topped with sliced hard boiled eggs and bacon, a zucchini pizza, the chipotle mayo sandwich on their famous English muffins, a peanut butter chocolate dessert and another English muffin to go. When I got to the cashier, she asked the lady who served me, is this all for the two of them? And had to be corrected by the other lady who said, no it's just for her. Yeah I'm a fat ass I know. The English muffins here are awesome-- you can never eat another Thomas or store packages English muffin after having one of the heavenly, fluffy English muffins here. The chipotle mayo sauce was divine, the eggs were fluffy and the sandwich overall was delicious. I really enjoyed the rich peanut butter dessert as well-- creamy peanut butter mouse on the inside, with a bit of chocolate cake on the bottom and melted chocolate on the outside. The zucchini pizza was so flavorful-- I love how the cheese melted and was all bubbly and was a burst of flavor with every bite. The breakfast tartine was good too! Definitely a great place to stop for lunch before the wineries-- the idea was to get snacks so we didn't get drunk from our tastings, but I kind of just ate everything then and there-- but still it helped me achieve my...

The Model Bakery opened its second location in the Oxbow Public Market in 2008, but they have been a cherished part of Napa for much longer!
Owned by the mother-daughter duo Karen Mitchell and Sarah Mitchell Hansen, the bakery specializes in artisan bread made with organic stone-ground flours. They first started the bakery on St. Helena's Main Street, housed in a century-old brick building, in 1984. Over the decades, they have built a solid reputation for their breads, pastries, and coffee.
The bakery offers a wide range of products, including artisan breads made with high-quality ingredients, pastries, cookies, and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Their English Muffins made such an impression on Oprah Winfrey that they were added to Oprah's Favorite Things list in 2016!
When we visited the Oxbow Public Market location later in the day, they had already sold out most of their goods. Nevertheless, I ordered a coffee and began exploring. The place smells heavenly—if you enjoy the aroma of freshly baked goods.
We shared a pastry, and it was delicious. Had it not been for my goal to lose a few pounds, I would have ordered several loaves of their various breads to take home! They look, smell, and, above all, taste wonderful.
If you’re ever in Napa, a visit to Model Bakery should be...
Read moreRemove the soup from the menu and get a proper Expo person. I try to avoid these tourist places, but my mom was visiting, so I took her here. She ordered a bunch of goodies to take home. I got a coffee and soup.
I waited 20 minutes for someone to tell me they were out of potato soup. No one else was walking out with soup. I didn’t see to go orders piling up. It took them 20 minutes to realize they only had tomato soup. Service person came out to tell me I could have a $6 refund or a tomato soup in 15 minutes… Um, how about the 20 minutes of my life back? Finally after checking with a manager she was somehow able to promise soup in 5 minutes. Another person came out and apologized at how busy they were. It was 11:05am, it was raining, no line outside, and they were sold out of almost everything. It wasn’t busy. I’ve seen that place packed in the summer. I wish they would have just admitted to screwing up, refunding me, and giving me some soup anyway.
I hope they just remove it from the menu because they clearly can’t handle it. I hope they also learn to smile and value customers a little more. Many locals would come in more often, if you treated them with respect like they do next door at the Fatted Calf. Those people know what...
