I've had an incredibly frustrating experience with this gym, especially as I'm preparing to move out of the country. Despite my repeated attempts to cancel my membership well in advance, the gym's response was dishearteningly slow, taking weeks to even acknowledge my request. Meanwhile, they didn't hesitate to continue charging my card, showcasing their extremely aggressive billing tactics.
It became abundantly clear that their priority is not customer satisfaction but rather ensuring they get their payments, by any means necessary. My attempts to resolve the issue were met with avoidance, only to find them proactive when it came to financial matters. The relentless billing, despite my clear intention to cancel, felt less like a membership and more like a scam. While I can't outright accuse them of being one, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth, feeling more exploited for profit than valued as a member.
For those looking for a gym in Nashville, I'd strongly recommend considering alternatives. Perhaps building a personal climbing gym or joining a smaller, community-focused gym would be more rewarding. Nashville's growth demands more adventurous and less profit-driven fitness options. This experience has been a stark reminder of the importance of choosing a gym that values its members' well-being over its...
Read moreWhile the facilities are much nicer than some of the older locations, East and West, the general negligence towards safety I have seen at West must extend across all gyms Climb manages. Downclimbs are fairly inexpensive additions to bouldering walls and make risk management easier in an already inherently dangerous sport. Bouldering is also the most injury prone style of climbing, which is why I cannot understand why Climb Kraft refuses to install proper amounts of downclimbs at different heights across the wall. I know several people that have complained about this already, and no efforts to improve things have been made. I personally know someone who topped a boulder, saw the nearest downclimb was at the same height as the last hold and had to just let go from the top and seriously injured themselves resulting in the need for surgery. Climb consistently cuts corners at the expense of members' and visitors' safety. Once Climb begins to treat its customers and employees with the respect they deserve, maybe it will stop hemorrhaging...
Read moreSuper fun setting with awesome and friendly staff. There’s a good mix of compy problems and more technical ones.
This gym is already great and already 5 stars IMO, but a few things on my wishlist:
A few more hangboards would be nice. Routes could be filled in a tiny bit. As is, it’s possible to finish up almost all the routes in a single session. But there is a kilter board which is great. Shower or foot washing station would be a huge plus.
Will definitely be back...
