Update: I initially left a very positive review after moving into this complex, but unfortunately, my experience since then has changed significantly.
To be clear: on-site staff are great and clearly doing their best with the limited support they’re getting. This review is not a reflection on them, but rather a criticism of upper management and corporate oversight which has been consistently unresponsive, unhelpful, and in some cases, dishonest.
Here are some of the ongoing issues:
Unresolved humidity problems have made the living conditions uncomfortable and potentially hazardous. We have documentation from the city citing a violation, yet Neuhoff claims no such issue exists. The only “solution” offered is to run the AC at freezing temperatures, resulting in outrageous electricity bills — with no permanent fix.
We are required to use their internet provider, which would be acceptable if it worked — but it doesn’t. The internet is spotty and unreliable, with many residents (especially those who work from home) dealing with dropped calls and poor connectivity.
Building access has become a safety concern: they’ve removed the ability to use entry codes, forcing us to rely solely on phone-based access. If your phone dies (or you just don’t want to be glued to your phone 24/7) and the concierge happens to be away from their desk, you’re locked out.
Some other issues worth noting: The package room is way too small for the number of tenants here; it’s chaotic and disorganized, making picking up packages frustrating. The pool is far too small — when you take a tour, imagine over 600 residents trying to find a spot on a Saturday. Dog waste bags and sanitary wipes/towels at the gym are consistently empty. Several amenities promised at move-in have never opened, with no clear communication or timeline on when (or if) they ever will.
While some of these complaints may seem trivial, I think most of us tenants expect that if Neuhoff is going to advertise themselves as a luxury apartment complex and charge above-average rent, residents should receive above-average service. I don’t think that is too much to ask.
When concerns are raised, we get the same responses: “We’re working on it” or “I don’t know.” There’s zero transparency and no accountability. Many of us feel fatigued constantly reporting problems because it’s clear they aren’t being taken seriously.
Also worth noting: When it’s time to renew your lease, expect Neuhoff to try and raise your rent by hundreds of dollars.
March 2025:
We had an amazing experience working with Alexis!
She was very professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. She took the time to understand what we were looking for and showed us an apartment that ended up being the perfect fit.
Throughout the process, Alexis was responsive, patient, and made everything feel seamless.
Thank you for making this such a great...
Read moreUpdated as of 07/2025 : Just wanted to change my rating my 5 stars to a 1 star - my previous review is true about Clay and how I felt when I first moved in.
Now living here going on 7 months my feelings have changed especially going into the summer months. There are a LOT of issues with the management / communication between the residents and the higher ups.
We as residents have come together and communicate daily which does show that this is a true community.
There has been nonstop issues with connections / WIFI in the building, I want to say the last three weeks we had a tech coming to help at least twice a week.
If you are planning on moving in the leasing office does offer lower rates to some residents and not to others (EVEN if you are on the same floor and have the same layout) and same goes for when you are renewing your lease (VERY unfortunate that these residents are treated differently).
The humidity levels are insane here - ranging between 80-95% range that multiple residents have been seeing over the last few months BUT the office says that it is normal.
There was a violation code found but Neuhoff is stating there was not one even though we have it in writing from the city - nothing has been fixed as of now!
They promise a ton of amenities but so far we have not seen some or heard when they will be completed like the music room for example. We also ALL had to fight and complain to have the pool open a month+ earlier than when Neuhoff was planning on opening it. Not sure what you really are paying for with the cost of rent because it seems like ????
Getting packages, having guests and parking are ALSO a nightmare. Do not get us started.
We have all been told many different things for what the lots next to the buildings will be (a biergarden, dog park, parking lot, offices) so far no one can confirm and it seems to be changing. Breaking a lease is almost impossible if you dont want to pay $8,000+. I would just REALLY reconsider moving in here and choose any other apartment building.
Basically, the building does not really seem to care if there are issues that need to get resolved until a majority of residents start to speak up about it. Really wanted to LOVE living here because it just seemed so nice but seriously can not wait for my lease to end.
01/2025 : I just signed a lease and moved into Neuhoff Residences! The whole process was super easy thanks to Clay. He showed me the different units available and the amenities for the building. He was super easy to communicate with and answered every single one of my questions (I had a ton!) So far, I would absolutely recommend this building and ask for Clay when you...
Read moreNeuhoff is a stunning apartment complex with beautiful units and incredible amenities. Top tier for sure. However, my experience with the leasing team has not met the high standard set by the apartments themselves.
Unfortunately, it seems they may be understaffed, as timely communication and responsiveness appear to be low priorities. I needed a quick move-in, which can be challenging, but with an occupancy rate below 20%, I expected more urgency in accommodating new residents.
Here are some frustrating points from my experience and things you may want to be aware of:
Miscommunication on Quotes: Our leasing agent provided an excellent tour, but made a mistake with the quotes. My girlfriend and I were negotiating with both Neuhoff and another complex, 1111, and we were transparent about our timelines and offers. After our tour, we received standard 48-hour quotes that were higher than what 1111 was offering. When we went to fill out the application, the price was suddenly $200 higher than the written quote we had. They attributed it to an agent error, yet we had to absorb that cost ourselves.
Lack of Support Leading Up to Move-In: We decided to go with Neuhoff despite the price issue, but the few days before moving in, we couldn't reach anyone in the leasing office to confirm what else was needed after paying 1.5 months' rent, a security deposit, and various fees in a cashier’s check. I left multiple messages and ultimately showed up in office where the agent magically came out to me with my phone number dialed in his phone saying "I was just about to call you". It was frustrating to feel left in the dark.
Unprepared Apartment on Move-In Day: Upon moving in, we found the apartment had not been properly prepared. Issues included:
Scuffs on the floors Chipped toilets A fridge disassembled with missing parts A hot water heater that wasn’t turned on, resulting in freezing cold showers after a long day of moving An unusable stove (Safety lock) Non-functioning fridge water and ice dispenser due to missing components Missing / dead batteries in fixtures A thermostat that couldn’t be adjusted because the Wi-Fi wasn’t set up, and it’s Wi-Fi controlled No parking pass ready, forcing us to pay for garage access during our move-in
Overall, while I’m giving Neuhoff a 4-star rating due to the beautiful amenities and apartments, the leasing office could benefit from being more proactive, timely, and flexible in...
