What a thoughtful memorial honoring the military and civilians who supported the effort and large stone pillars providing context and perspective. It’s set to the side of the park in a kind of henge like sanctuary of stone monoliths with some benches for reflection and contemplation. Very well done.

The World War II Memorial is beautiful, striking and serene tribute to the 5,731 Tennesseans who died in World War II. The main feature is a globe that rotates on water. There are 10 pillars (5 on each side) depicting moments from the war. A time capsule lays buried in front of the bench.

18,000lb granite globe floating on a thin layer of water! Globe shows distances that Tennesseans traveled to defend our country during WW2. Also contains a time capsule, information panels and benches dedicated to TN Medal of Honor recipients.

The World War II Memorial in Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park is a must-see for anyone interested in history and honoring our veterans. The memorial is beautifully designed, with intricate details and inspiring quotes that pay tribute to the brave men and women who served our country during WWII. It's a peaceful and reflective space, perfect for taking a moment to remember and honor those who sacrificed so much for our freedom. The park itself is also a wonderful place to explore, with its stunning monuments and green spaces. I highly recommend visiting this memorial and taking a moment to pay your respects to...

It was built to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the 1796 founding of Tennessee, though it was not finished and dedicated until November 11, 1997 (Veteran’s Day). The primary feature, is the eight-ton carved stone globe, which rests on a cushion of flowing water and can be easily pushed into different angles, though it rotates on its own due to the flowing water. In front of the globe is a stone platform with stars honoring the 5,731 Tennesseans who died in WW2. Ten pillars, five on each side, line the east and west of...

A historical landmark, located just by the famous Nashville Farmers' market. The large globe also has display boards with information on the significance that the US military has taken part of during WWII. It has a bit of bird poop stains, and stains from weathering but otherwise is well kept. I recommend looking seeing this when you visit the Bicentennial Capitol...
