FamilySearch center — Local services in Nauvoo

I had no idea the vast information the LDS have on genealogy. A member at the Visitor's Center recommended I stop by. Wow! I spent over 2 hours at the Center. The Elders were extremely helpful and friendly. With a quick phone call to my father, we were able to follow my family tree back to the 1400s. I found several branches entry into the US. We visited on Memorial Day and the missionaries were very helpful. I was able to use their Historic Nauvoo system and a Land Records system only available in Nauvoo to find any Nauvoo ancestors who owned land and then attach those land records to the specific ancestor in FamilySearch Memories so it will be available to everyone. They explained that only descendants can attach these records to Memories to make them available online to others, so it was fun to be able to share part of our trip with others....

Found information about my Nauvoo ancestors, including where they lived in Nauvoo. Have access to Nauvoo Land and Records database, as well as all of FamilySearch stuff. Was able to print map of land plot that my ancestor owned.
