Fireside BBQ — Restaurant in Nauvoo

Of all the places to find the best brisket I've ever tasted, I did not expect it to be Nauvoo IL! I love most smoked meats, but I'm kinda a snob about brisket- I would say that I don't like over 50% of what I try at new restaurants- that being said, this stuff was instantly into my top 2 and by the end of my meal, I can say that was the BEST brisket I have ever tasted and BBQ place I've eaten at ( just ahead of Wright's BBQ in Johnson Arkansas (Luckily only 10 min from home :-D)) Besides the best brisket you'll taste, the sides are incredible non generic and home cooked. I was able to try most of the sides off of my and some willing and some unaware family members' plates! The funeral potatoes, slaw, green beans were all excellent. Only thing I tasted that could improve was the turkey which seemed a little overcooked and dry (which based on everything else, I can only imagine was an anomaly.) Call the sheriff! Real Texas BBQ has been stolen and moved to Nauvoo! Check out the smoke ring and bark on this mouthwatering brisket!!! Incredible fall-off-the-bone pork ribs and solid sides - we especially liked the funeral potatoes, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw and cornbread. Cans of soda were cheap and consistent. Good food and not skimpy. Got the ribs and their sauces were good. Friendly service until and not after I gave a 20% tip at the begging till and I noted the sign on the table "Please clean up after yourself". I Bought the fact up with the cashier (politely) I was not happy about paying a tip for service then seeing the sign asking me to clean up after myself.
