Snip-its Haircuts for Kids — Local services in Needham

This location obviously has mixed reviews, which made me and my wife a little apprehensive to take our 14mo son here for a haircut. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon with no appointment. I was told by the receptionist that there were about 9 people ahead of us, but several had not shown up yet. She told us she would try to slip us in if the appointments did not show on time and we were waiting. True to her word she squeezed us in after about 15 minutes. We were delighted to have Hilda as our stylist. I had read several positive reviews about her and she exceeded our expectations. From the first moment she introduced herself to our son, a smile crossed his face and he went into her arms. You can tell she is a seasoned professional. Throughout his curious looks, twists, and turns, she was able to keep him entertained and give him a haircut that even I would have been pleased with. You could tell that she truly loves children and enjoys what she does. We had a terrific experience and will definitely go back.

In regards to the previous reviews, we are not sure if that manager is still there, but the service we received was exceptional. As for turn-over, I would imagine that some people are just not gifted with the patience it takes to cut children's hair all day. The establishment was clean, had toys to entertain the kids while waiting, and possessed an overall happy ambiance. While we were there, we watch another child get her first haircut. Her parents left glowing with a card including a couple locks of their baby's hair to remember the day. You won't find this anywhere else in town.

I wish I didn't have to put such a poor review but I feel it's necessary , possibly for management to use to revamp this organization. My son (22 months), my one month old ( in carrier) and I showed up for his appointment today at 12 and was first greeted by receptionist with a rude demeanor. After getting rushed into the chair it seemed we were invisible to the stylist and were rushed right out. She did not pay any attention to my son or body language when she was cutting. Conversation was out of the question since she seemed more engaged with the stylist and client next to us. I could tell by my son's demeanor he felt the presence of his friendly advances being shut down and the same for myself. Didn't help either that we revieved multiple eye rolls during check out like we were an inconvenience. I wanted to like this place but today was a pretty poor experience. we took our 3 year old niece for her haircut. For starters, we felt extremely unwelcome here and felt more like a bother than a customer. Considering there were 3 employees and one child getting their haircut I was shocked at the attitude we got. I can understand if they’re busy… but they were not.

To make mattes worse, they used a brush on her hair… a very unclean brush. I must say this was a disgusting process. Unsanitary standards especially in a childrens hair cut establishment is not only wrong but helps to spread lice. The woman only took five minutes to cut her hair, offered her an uneven haircut.
