My son went to Camp Feather at Rooster Dreams Visual Arts. If you have special needs kiddos, DO NOT send them to this camp!! The owner stated that she doesn't, "have the staff nor resources to create special programming," and, " There is no way [she] can figure out. . . special behavioral needs and how to accommodate them." Despite the statement that she tried everything she knew, she failed to do the most basic thing, contact and speak with me. I notified her that my son had ADHD prior to his first camp (so nothing she needed to figure out) and she did not advise as to her concerns about his participation. My son is 11 and just finished his 4th camp. The owner sent an e-mail (see quotes above) saying she did not want my son to participate in the 5th camp we had him scheduled for (and PAID for). It's somewhat shocking that she didn't tell me in person or provide ANY options for my son's continued participation. She never notified me or expressed concern regarding his behavior during any of the previous camps. In fact, I asked her often how he was doing and she responded 'great' every time. I don't know what changed, she stated his behavior was much better than last year. There was no communication during the most recent camp or any prior camps that my son was making the class difficult for fellow campers. It seems like she just didn't want him around anymore. The owners response to my review is so disingenuous and telling. Besides gaslighting an 11 year old boy, I'm not sure why she mentions that she and her assistants all have ADHD. Perhaps this is why they were less patient towards and so frustrated with my son. She also states in her response that the behaviors she didn't care for were not related to ADHD. This clearly shows her lack of understanding regarding how ADHD affects children and their behavior. Everything she mentioned in her e-mail kicking my son out of her camp are typical behaviors of an ADHD child. Children with ADHD are very different than adults and teens with the same diagnosis. Just refer to the previous quotes. . . she doesn't have the time or ability to develop programming for special needs kids. Seek out something better for...

Her ideas are unique, her instruction is top-notch, and she's wonderful with kids. I love how much beautiful art we have from Rooster Dreams displayed in our home. Would...
