Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in New Bern

Update 5/12/24 The New Bern location is horrible. Don't know why we keep going there other than we like it when they get it right. Where do I start? The service overall is horrible. If you order on the app and pull in a stall and check in, be prepared to wait a ridiculous amount of time. Take my advice - go through the drive through where they can't really ignore you. The problem is, they'll get some or all of your order ready and it will sit in there until you push the call button again. Second, there is always SOMETHING wrong with the order. The other day, the cheesecake Oreo stuff was rancid. I asked for another one without the cheesecake stuff (basically a sundae with Oreo) and after them forgetting to make it, I finally got it. Today, we got a caramel sundae with Oreos added. NO Oreos and the caramel had a weird taste to it. Too bad because their ice cream flavor actually tastes better to us than dairy Queen. Ordered a cheeseburger for my mom. ONLY ketchup. Came out with everything BUT ketchup even though the tickets for these items are printed correctly. So it's not the tickets being incorrect, it's the people making it that don't seem to care. I could go on since every order has something incorrect but I'll stop here. You get the picture. End rant😊

Previous: When Carlos ran this location, it was efficient, orders were correct and came out fairly quickly. There's always been some problems between ordering on the app and the app sending the food to the restaurant. Lately it's gotten worse. Waiting for 30+minutes for simple food orders, missing items, incorrect orders. Visit was before Dec 24' Ordered the Buffalo chicken bites (not EXACTLY SURE OF THE NAME!) with tater tots and a large Dr. Pepper. Was delivered fast by a friendly fella. Professional attitude. Plenty of food. Nice and hot. Would have liked catsup with the tots and I guess I could have pushed the button again... Parking lot was clean and plenty of spaces to park. Received one salt packet and one pepper packet (would have loved way more pepper and another salt). Overall I really enjoyed it and will try something new on my next trip.

12/29/24 Just stopped by with a friend to get a hot fudge sundae. Landon brought them to the car. My friend asked if they had hot fudge in them and Landon said he wasn't sure, but he would take them back in and remake them. I declined. Neither had any fudge. One was a cup of vanilla ice cream, the other had 2 cherries and some strawberry flavored syrup. I paid almost $6...

I ordered the 5 piece crispy tender box. Asked for a large fry and large ocean water. The girl said to me "I dont know if they'll do a large fry because it comes in a box and they can only fit so much in there. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt seeing if maybe they'd put a little extra in there considering "they cant put large fry" with it. The food came out pretty quickly however, they did not give a little extra fries, as a matter of fact the fry container wasnt even full AND they were cold so I sent my boyfriend up there to get warm fries and they really made him walk all the way back to the playground to get the fries they'd given us in order to get hot fries....... I dont know how sonic is supposed to operate and I honestly dont care because this entire situation is poor customer service. Especially when I was obviously willing to pay the upcharge for the large....
