New Brighton License Bureau — Local services in New Brighton

• UPDATED I had to change my rating after the response I received. I literally laughed that they would respond 4 months after the fact! It is not effective to have one person "Triage" the lobby making small talk and telling people all the ins & outs of the DMV. I can tell you, I was not the only one who felt like I did. Tempers and Frustration levels were high that day ... One person behind the counter simply would ask people to step out of line - do what was needed and then come back to her counter. She helped the next number and when the people stepped back up, she would finish with who she was working with, then return to the person she had step to the side. **

The gentleman who processed my license renewal was AWESOME. The wait was VERY long and a woman came out from behind the counter and went one by one through the crowd asking what they were there for etc. She could have made a simple announcement and went back to processing for people. Instead she just kept talking with people and it left only 1or 2people to process. Ridiculous to make everyone wait SO long because of that....

License bureau is consistently staffed with amazing employees. However, walk over to the passport office and there's a chance you'll meet an extremely condescending arab hijabi clerk. She made faces right in front of us when she felt inconvenienced, and answered questions with a level of disdain that made us uncomfortable and irritated; effectively spoiling the excitement of applying for new and updated passports.

Besides this unfortunate interaction, this location's staff from the information desk to any other clerk in the passport office and license bureau is great. Honestly, they are amongst the best clerks I've had the pleasure of interacting with once you get through the line. I've been here more than once in the past months and it's stellar everytime.

The wait times are long and in-between 1.5 ~ 2 hours, but I would argue these are better wait times than other license bureaues in the area.

Make sure you have all your original and up to date documents for the real ID, there's a clerk that generously walks around to pre-confirm your documents and can save you time before you get...

Worst dmv to go too. The employees are rude,awful and they honestly can go to hell for all I care. I had to actually give one star just to be able to write a review. Numbers were given out and people who had numbers left the building because they didn’t want to wait. So three numbers past their number they returned and ware able to be served. I waited over an hour and a half and never left the building. I was the last person and was denied because they refused to take another number. I was there to get my daughter an id because today was her 18th birthday. Ten minutes were left before they closed and this was the second dmv we waited at because circle pines doesn’t have a camera at their sight. What a fricken waste this sight is. What a a thing to deal with for your first time at the dmv. My daughter was in tears. People have really lost their compassion in this world and have become completely self centered pieces of garbage. I will not ever go back to this dmv they are completely worthless and I 100%...
