I would not recommend this place for anyone. I was there for just a day and a half and I wish I had never gone there. They are out for money only and they donāt really care about you unless your family is there at which point theyāre very friendly and very nice. They are only looking out for the money since I was guaranteed money through my medical assistance insurance they tried to keep me there, and gave me a very hard time as I tried to leave I had just had 2 major knee surgeries and I am a bigger person and they assured the hospital that they would be able to accommodate me completely weight wise and surgery wise. They put me on a bed that barely fit me and when I needed to be changed they wanted me to roll on one side where there was basically no bed and they kept telling me āyouāre fineā āyouāre fineā We have someone standing there even though I was twice the size of the person standing there and I could take them out if I started rolling or my momentum brought me over the edge, but they seemed angry that I was questioning them on it, and this happened several times. They left me there on my back on the bed for over 24 hours never having me get up never having me get in my wheelchair, nothing which is basically just asking for blood clots or pressure sores. Itās not good to not be moved at all after major surgery.. I have a brace for 1 foot that was brought in by my family that Iām supposed to have on 2 hours per day. but they ignored it and never put it on my foot. They wouldnāt even try to use pillows or anything to help try to straighten out the surgical leg which was what the hospital was doing. They are HORRIBLE at answering the call light, I never even got a normal call light, I was given a bent piece of metal to press to turn on my call light and the cord for it wasnāt even long enough for it to stay on my table so I didnāt really have one I could count on to be available when I needed it. I never did get a working remote for the TV, once the finally got one that could turn the TV on it wouldnāt turn the channel, the call light that I couldnāt reach was needed one night, I was in pain, I yelled, I cried, I screamed āhelpā and NO ONE came, I had to call my husband who called Villas front reception and asked them to send someone to help me. I truly felt that staying was moving me backwards in my healing process instead of forward. I seemed to be losing ground and it took me whining and telling one person there that as soon as I was put in my wheelchair, I was going to drive it out the front door and start driving it towards home and when the battery died somewhere on the side of the road I would be better off there then staying here. I was not getting pain meds because it would take them so long to respond to my asking. Once they FINALLY okād me to leave, they told me to set up my own ride home (Iāve never had to get my own ride to or from a TCU before) but as long as it meant, I could go home I set it up myself, and since there was about six hours between the time, I set it up and the time I was leaving, they pretty much decided to ignore me not even helping me get my stuff together in a way that I could easily take it. They had thrown things on the second bed in the room and just told me that when it was time for my ride to grab my stuff and wait out front.. I had to try to make it into just two bags of things so that I could try and hold onto them the best I could and Iāve had a stroke that affected my left hand that they knew about so they knew I was not good at using that hand to hold things or pack things, but it didnāt seem that they cared. I was so so so happy when that van pulled away from the building and I knew that I was going home and I was...
Ā Ā Ā Read more1/5āļø The only reason why they even get a single star is because the admin and social working staff have been very kind.
They are also the only facility that accepts MA Pending applicants. Between me and the hospital, we contacted at least a dozen facilities and this was the only one who would take her while my motherās medical assistance app was pending.
Now on to everything else:
They are sorely understaffed. They have 4 people per wing. 1 nurse and 3 aids. That is for a facility that has 99 beds. Corporate, expand the nursing and aid staff for the love of god. You have enough facilities and make enough money to afford to hire more care providers. In the first room my mother received there were literal holes in the wall, the wire at the base of the nurse call button where it met the wall was exposed, and the toilet in the room smelled like piss that had been germinating for weeks. On a good day it took a minimum of 30 minutes for aids to respond to bathroom requests. My mother literally could not move on her own and when they inevitably wouldnāt show up she would have to sit in a diaper of her own piss and shit for at least half an hour before anyone showed up. Again, my mother was immobile. They told me she would be turned every 2 hours to help prevent bed sores. One day When I asked my mom if she had been turned at all that day she said no. My mom, being immobile, could not eat or drink on her own. On the morning of 2/21/25 my brother went to visit and when he got back at night after work her tray was EXACTLY THE SAME. She had gone all day without anyone trying to make sure she could eat and drink. My mom could not chew. They kept trying to give her solid food even though they knew this and had been told she needs a liquid/puree diet by both the family and her doctor. It took me having to beg someone to get her a shower after she had been there for over a week without one. Despite saying they have a designated smoking area away from the front door they allow staff and residents to smoke right in front of the front door. This is an extreme health hazard for residents and visitors. The button to call the nurse is not accessible to anyone with any sort of mobility or coordination issues. Same with the remotes for the TVs There are no subtitles on their tvs. Trust me. I tried.
My mother passed away and when she did there was almost no sympathy from any of the staff. The admin staff was kind and one of the three nurse aids was kind when they came to clean her body. That was it. They even sent the custodian in to clean the room WHILE WE WERE STILL IN IT MOURNING.
If you have the option, DO NOT put your loved one in this facility. It was an overall...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMedicare website rates this place as two stars so I'll be generous too, I've been here for 4 days and understand why. The institutional food is yuck (it made the hospital food seem like a resort). My wound dressings were supposed to be changed daily, just managed to badger someone to change it for the first time today (after 4 days). The day-nurses appear to be desperately understaffed and say "it's a good idea to remind us" when you need meds. It's 1:30pm and I still haven't gotten the IV-meds I was supposed to get around 8:00am (have reminded them a handful of times). There is no hot water in any of the patient rooms: the cold water faucet/tap is turned off, and the hot water faucet/tap dispenses cold water, so I can't wash my face let alone any other part of my body. There are some very sweet and helpful staff here but they are too busy to help when needed. My mother was in the Pres Homes system for 10 years -- they had staff where all the worker did was med-tech tasks (receiving/organizing/dispensing patients' medication) and didn't have to run off to patient call-bells in the middle of getting meds ready. Plusses: A/C and personal-TV (one for each roommate) in each room. Huge minus: I have to share a room with roommates who snore, groan and vomit all night. I'm here temporarily (1 more interminable month) for IV-meds that can't be handled in a Home or Visiting Nurse setting, so I don't need a lot of time or care, and know a lot about my conditions and the medicines I'm taking, but it's disturbing to have your "RN" tell you after you request it (and it's on your meds list), "I can't give you both Senna and Docusate Sodium, they are the same thing" (they are NOT, I've been taking both every evening for years now per my regular doctor's recommendation).
Edited to Add: Villa has been taken over by new mgmt ("Monarch") as of Jan 1st (today is April 14th) and I haven't gotten a statement on what I owe remaining on my MediCare co-pays for several months. They also will not deposit your payment for at least a month (which is costing me a lot of grief and bounced check fees at my bank when two checks went thru out of the blue today). To say I'm unhappy is...
