Country Fair Chocolates — Local services in New Hope

Every time I come to New Hope from Chicago, my very first stop is Country Fair Chocolates. My colleague Adam and I have been visiting for years, and we’ve fallen completely in love with both the shop and its incredible owner, Barb.

Barb is one of the warmest, kindest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met. She doesn’t just sell chocolates - she pours her heart into everything she makes and everyone she meets. She remembers us every single time, greets us with open arms, and makes you feel like family. She’s also the best historian of the town - you’ll leave with not only chocolates, but also amazing stories, fun facts, recommendations and even haunted tales about New Hope. She’s the concierge of the town.

And the chocolates… wow. The coconut clusters are absolutely to die for, and there’s always something unique and delightful to try. You can taste the love and care in every bite.

Barb has been part of this community for decades, and you can feel her passion not just for her craft, but for the people and the town she serves. She embodies everything you hope to find in a small local shop - heart, history, and hospitality.

I had the honor and pleasure of returning to New Hope, Pennsylvania on Friday, November 13, 2020. The last time I had been there, before last month was on Saturday, October 1, 2016. In all the years I had visited New Hope, I had never stopped in at Country Fair Chocolates, but the time had come to rectify that. The woman behind the counter was professional and friendly. She stated that photos of the inside of the store could not be taken. This has become more popular, these last few years, but I digress. The chocolates my life partner and I purchased were finished between the time we returned home and about two hours later. Yes, they were THAT GOOD!! The store also sells handmade face masks; I purchased two that fit very well and are very comfortable; both contain a noae bar sewn inside the face masks. I look forward to returning to this lovely atore the next time I visit New Hope, PA, which shall be before December, 2021, no...

Always love this place! Super friendly service-always remembers what I like even though I only make it up there twice a year! My favorite chocolates ever, especially the strawberries. No idea why some folks give bad reviews especially on service- I have always fou d them to ne full of smiles and very helpful (note...some complain about not being able to take photos- many stores, especially small shops don't allow this for a variety of reasons...and some complain because they request you to wait to eat your goodies outside (seen on their cute stickers on the bag)--it is a very small shop that can fill up quickly). My guess is folks are calling them rude because they are enforcing these...
