I made an appointment and after arriving on time I still had to wait over 40 minutes to be seen. I asked the staff how long the wait would be and they were snippy and rude stating it's the beauty industry and they didn't know. I was trying to schedule the rest of my day and asked if they had a rough estimate, and to this the nail artist snapped that it's impossible to know. It Seems they are understaffed and unable to be accommodating or courteous to their customers.
Once I was finally seen (after almost an hour of waiting) the nail artist wasn't apologetic to the wait- he instead wanted to continue the conversation about why he was delayed. He insisted that as a walk in I should expect to wait. I told him I had an appointment and just needed to know so I could plan my day. To this the nail artist seemed to imply he also had a busy day... ? I simply stated "I don't think this is how you should talk to customers". The nail artist then refused to even do the job because as He stated "the vibe wasn't there". I didn't realize this place cared only about good vibes and not the customer. I'd assume at any establishment making sure the customer feels taken care of and maintaining repeat business is a stronger strategy for profitable business than "good vibes". They should make it clear that at this place they would prefer good vibes to actual money.
Go somewhere else. This place is rude and inconsiderate and if you attempt to hold them accountable for their delays they will refuse you service.
UPDATE: After this establishment refused me service for asking how long the wait would be- they told me to go to NAIL BAR NOLA I immediately made an appointment. my manicure was specifically for work in the film industry and necessary for an upcoming shoot. Nail Bar Nola was a god send. they had an appointment available and when I arrived Nail Bar Nola immediately sat me at a station and served a beverage of my choice. The space was clean and much nicer than la rouge and the atmosphere was incredible. My lovely nail artist at nail bar nola was fast, skilled, lovely and matched my nails perfectly for the shoot. The place was well staffed with plenty of care for the customer’s holistic experience. I even told my nail artist about what happened at LaRouge and she was shocked I had to wait longer than 15 minutes with an appointment. I can’t stress enough to just skip this place and go to NAIL BAR NOLA - it’s about the same cost, they will not waste your time, and the manicure work...
Read moreI got to NOLA early and wanted to relax before my friends bach weekend. La Rouge had space to take me so I walked-in after making a quick call. They were welcoming and kind. I got a mani and pedi. Pedicure was great but the mani was a disaster. The technician dropped the tools then didn’t change or clean them. She continued and I was a little flustered and unsure if I should say anything. She reassured me they are a clean salon. After trimming my cuticles on the first hand, she cut 3 of my fingers on the second hand. This happened after I asked if she could not push down as hard. After my request, she cut the following 2 fingers causing me to bleed. She did say if I didn’t want my cuticles to be trimmed, I could have asked however that’s not what I wanted. I wanted her to not be so tough on my hands as she was hitting the sensitive barrier. The paint job was meh but I think most salons are that way when you only want regular polish. When checking out, I let them know what happened and they were kind enough not to charge me. Anne was called over to take a second look and offered to redo my nails but I was ready to leave. This affected the rest of my trip as now (4 days later) my fingers hit things and still sting. Thankfully she did spray alcohol on my hand so I think that helped to reduce...
Read moreI was in a pinch and decided to get my nails done here since they had good reviews and were open on sunday. I booked an appointment a few days in advance but when I got there I wasn't given the person I booked. I specifically booked this woman because reviews mentioned how great she was and she didn't end up doing my full set. They stuck me with a new hire, a white man, who was nice but he was shaking for most of my full set and kept cutting my skin with the nail cutters. I didn't request for him to cut down my nails but I figured if it was best for the longevity of the set there was no reason to bring it up since he has already started. When he was filing down my nail beds they started to burn with all the friction. The atmosphere of the salon was nice and all of the employees were friendly enough but getting the acrylic full set was not enjoyable at all. I also ended up paying somewhere over $80 which to me seemed ridiculous. Safe to say I never went back and ended up finding a new place...
