Really really disappointed in this establishment. We came all the way from Florida and were recommended this restaurant by our in laws. When arrived for NYE dinner we were blindsided with a prefix menu that was not advertised on the website as being the only option for food. It would be one thing if they were showcasing a few of their tried and true favorites from their menu- but it was completely different food all together. All of it was frankly- pretty bad. The amose bouche was very basic bruchetta. We ordered the ravioli, the bbq shrimp, the salad, and the gumbo for our second course. For main dishes we ordered the eggplant Capri, chicken Capri, the pork, and the fish. It was very clearly scoop and dump premade cafeteria style food to make it come out faster. Across the board we agreed food was under seasoned and poorly cooked. The risotto was hard, the shrimp was burned. What really grinded my gears the most was I, as a vegetarian, was really excited to see options clearly marked with a (V) to let me know which options were safe for me to order. When my eggplant arrived it was covered in crawfish! I was shocked because it is a vegetarian dish and it definitely did not have crawfish in the description!! Makes me wonder if their chef is brand new. I had to send it back. By the time I got my new, crawfish free eggplant, my party had already finished eating. My husband’s chicken Capri was the thinnest piece of chicken I’ve ever seen in my life, and 99% breading. Both the eggplant and chicken capris were incredibly salty- it was basically the only flavor you could taste. Our servers had to be called over to us each time- they never checked on us. The inside is nice, Christmas decor was cute. We spoke to the restaurant manager and he was flippant- he asked what website we looked at to not see their pre fix menu. What website? Yours! The place we made our reservations. Later we saw they had posted something on Facebook. Wild to me that they expect customers to hunt down all their social media pages to know what we’re getting in to. After alcohol and food it was $350 before tip for amateur hour at a cafeteria line. Won’t be back for a pre fix anytime soon, hopefully their regular...
Read moreWe came across this place while heading to a music venue for a show for the night. We read the reviews and thought they sounded okay. Especially since it was above a 4 star rating. We were also on a time crunch so thought it would be good to stay in the area. The crab dip was pretty good, I would give it a 4/5. My drink was also pretty good, another 4/5. I found it un classy and just strange that our bread loaf came just wrapped in a napkin and placed on the table. Our dinner were sub par. I got the shrimp étouffée, barley had any flavor. Lacked lots of seasoning, no spice whatsoever and just was boring. My fiancé got the chicken rosmarino, he said it was very flavorful and the chicken was not dry which is good, but it was just pilled on with a whole head of garlic in the middle. I understand if this is how the dish is made, but some editing should be made. He did say the spaghetti sauce was delicious, very fresh. Unfortunately I am coming to the worst part of the meal. Doesn’t even involve the food we ate. While we were sitting at our table and making conversation with our waiter, all of the sudden we see something crawl across the floor. It was a mouse!! And then the waiter proceeded to be comical about the situation, and just make jokes “like you don’t want that walking a cross your table” found this to be very unprofessional and just unappealing. I understand that restaurant in big cities may have their flaws such as this, but it’s not something you want to see inside. To be honest after seeing that I would have gotten up and left if we were not already sitting or pressed for time to eat dinner before the show. Plus the price point was way over the top! We went to cochon the night before which just on the next block, way higher reviews/James beard award and just amazing food and was not as expensive...
Read moreAs out of towners, my friends and I were looking for a local spot with New Orleans food. We made a reservation through OpenTable and were seated at 9pm. Our waitress came to our table and let us know the kitchen closed at 9pm - why would they have their last reservation at the same as the kitchen closes? Our waitress was lovely and very attentive, we got our appetizers and main courses quickly. My filet was severely undercooked; I asked for medium well and they served it rare, almost purple in the middle. Now this is where things get sketchy. We received the bill and realized they had charged us $42 for the Filet Mignon instead of $39 (we ordered two). After review, someone above the waitress came over and explained that they had changed the price but hadn’t updated the menu but the menu should be updated online… which make me think, every person who ordered the filet was charged an extra $3 and they should be checking the website not the menu IN THE RESTAURANT? It really doesn’t make sense. I was also confused why I was being charged $16 for the margarita I ordered when the bill listed it as $13. The same person who explained the mix up Filet charge said that I was being charged a “rock charge” for the patron I asked for… I didn’t have Patron on the rocks I had a mixed drink.
Basically, I wouldn’t trust this establishment and consider it a place with high integrity. The food isn’t good enough to be scammed almost $10 (with tax added in) for C grade, average food.
You won’t miss anything not...
