After a long day of traveling and checking into the fantastic Higgins Hotel, my partner and I were craving something convenient, delicious, and not too far a trek. Flamingo A-Go-Go popped up as a mere 0.1 miles away with good reviews, so we decided to give it a shot – and boy, are we glad we did! We were truly pleasantly surprised by every aspect of our experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and lively, loved the music playing! But what truly stood out was the service. Our server, Trenecia, was an absolute gem. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Her suggestions were absolutely on point. She guided us through the menu with such enthusiasm, making it tough to choose because everything sounded so good! We started with her recommendations of the boudin balls and also got some hush puppies. They arrived piping hot and packed with flavor – the perfect start to our meal. For our main courses, I went with the Flamingo Shrimp Alfredo, and it was a creamy, flavorful dream with perfectly cooked shrimp. My husband opted for the Shrimp A-Go-Go PoBoy with onion rings, and he raved about the freshness of the shrimp and the delicious sauce. The onion rings were tasty, too. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was absolutely delicious, clearly made with care. Even though we were getting full, Trenecia sweetly suggested we try the Kalauha Chocolate Mousse Cake for dessert, and we’re so glad we listened! It was the perfect decadent end to a fantastic meal – rich, smooth, and just sweet enough. We left feeling completely satisfied and already making plans to return. We're definitely coming back during our trip to try the redfish, which Trenecia also highly recommended. If you're staying near the Higgins Hotel or just looking for an amazing meal with incredible service in New Orleans, Flamingo A-Go-Go is an...

ALEXIS was BEYOND AMAZING! We had reservation, when we got there nobody was at the host stand. We only stood there for about 8-10 minutes. A woman with a pink flamingo go polo shirt looked at us and bused the table, she didn’t greet us or say anything to us. The server Isaiah came up there to greet us and assured us someone will be right with us. The host came (red braid) as she was walking up the server (TY) walked on side her with the worst attitude ever stating “idk who’s taking them but it won’t be me”. I asked the host was she talking about us (9 of us) . The host apologized and said she’ll find us a server because she was up next to get a table but she declined serving us. The stereotype was very LOUD, no one corrected her behavior. A manager (Jessica) was notified, she giggled and said she’s sorry we experienced that. I work hospitality just like I told her, and everyone at the table did. EVERYONE tipped Alexis $20… we were a very easy table and didn’t deserve to be stereotyped!!! Isiah also was attractive he came and checked on our table making sure everything was good. We told him everything was amazing and I thanked him for helping Alexis out, even though she was on top of everything. Alexis also apologized for (TY) rude behavior and smart comments she kept making our whole visit. I’m a regular at flamingo and NEVER been treated like we were . Flamingo go need to reevaluate their employees because her attitude seemed very normal. No one was phased by it. In fact someone said “she having a bad day because alot of Black people not tipping her and she got stiffed” we had nothing to do with that interaction or table. ALEXIS AND ISAIAH WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING. Their leadership is prime example of what leading by example and maintaining a positive attitude. We came on 07-21-24 for a birthday...

I was part of a bachelorette party with reservations for 1:45. We did not get seated until 2:45 and did not get our food until 4 despite ordering right away. There were multiple times we had to ask again and again for drinks that we had ordered but never got. We spoke to the manager Alex about how the extreme slowness was interfering with our scheduled plans and he offered to comp our drinks. Later when we got our check, it was for the full amount. When we talked to him about this he changed his tune and said that he isn’t allowed to discount drinks but then offered a 10% discount. Seeing as our entire day was ruined by the insane delay of the food - we argued that we should get a larger discount. We were then given 50% food after lots of back and forth between the server and manager - none of which even apologized for the inconvenience. There were multiple times we asked for ketchup and never got it, had to get it ourselves. We saw our drinks sitting at the bar watering down because no one brought them to us. Another manager named Tim was moseying around the place and was extremely unhelpful. The final straw was a server losing one of the girls credit cards - only to then find it 15 mins later. The entire experience was a sh*tshow. They should have been accountable for the slowness. We spent 4 hours for brunch and didn’t make it to multiple plans. This was a precious trip for my friend who is getting married and will never get the time back. Completely unacceptable and I would not ever recommend. Some of the food also came out cold AND cherry on top was them being out of silverware so we had to use plastic which barely cut into some items that were ordered and some of us had to eat with our hands. Please please do...

I was pleasantly surprised. To start off, the interior and exterior decor is really nice. Props to the management for designing a beautiful and unique atmosphere. Now, I wrestled with giving this place a 4 or 5 but I went with a 5 because mainly, the food was really, really good. The shrimp a go go is amazing! I fully recommend anyone who visits to try it. Some of the best shrimp I've ever had. I also got a regular angus burger with cheese and bacon and it was also really good. It's hard to screw up a burger so that's not saying much though. But the burger was good and the garlic fries was probably even better. The food overall was a A+ and I was very, very surprised and satisfied. My only knack is, as many comments have said, the service can be a tad better. We came on a not so busy Saturday night and our service was still slower than it should have been. I can only imagine how bad it can get on days well they actually catch big crowds. Still, we're pretty patient so we didn't complain, but reading the other reviews, it's obviously management should probably really get better at teaching their servers how to move faster or else you all will keep getting porous reviews. With that said, our server was really nice and apologized for the long wait time. For that, and the great food, I will give Flamingo A Go Go 5 stars, but it would be an unquestioned 5 stars if you get your server performances to go from just okay to great...heck even just good. Still, the food, decor, and attitude of the servers did enough to have me want to bring my business back one day.
