ACME IN 30 Gem st NEEDS HELP!!! from the CEO owner. There is a serious problem with harassment, bullying from Assistant manager from Slicing Department Rosa, and her friends Brenda and Suheive. Rosa, since recently she started working there. She doesn’t know to work neither supervise workers or work as a team. Rosa lacks professionalism, she is terrible, speaks with harsh language to her workers, doesn’t have work ethics, no manners to treat others, treats her coworkers very poorly and discriminates them by bullying, making unnecessary comments, cursing and harassing them. She creates a very hostile work environment! She doesn’t work on Mondays she goes up and drinks with her cliques. Nobody supervises her and her poor work ethics. Rosa makes her coworkers feel unsafe at the workplace. That’s the environment she create. She said that she doesn’t have “patient” in a recent meeting she told the workers “to go and hit themselves after work to solve issues.” Rosa creates a very negative and unproductive work place with her coworkers. She encourages violence and not professional work ethics so workers can work in a positive and peaceful place!!! Very hostile work environment. NICK her inmediate supervisor and the Union representative do NOT help with this situation!! They ignored it daily!! Everyday it only get worst working there!! ROSA has her own group of people SUHEIVE amd BRENDA together THEY BULLIED THE COWORKERS UNDER HER supervision with insults and bad language. NYC Workers have rights everywhere. We need the owners of ACME and outside supervisors HR to help this company work environment! ROSA, is really disrespectful, RUDE and unprofessional. We are gonna get united and take the necessary legal actions, call the media until a resolution is made. United we will stand since the owners of Acme do not help with this harassment and hostile situation to the hard workers that prepare fish daily!!!! THIS MUST STOP THE WORKERS NEED HELP as soon as posible!!!! UNION LEADERS NEED TO HELP with this situation too as soon as posible. They all payed dues!! HELP at this work place this mistreatment cannot and should...
Read moreRead moreDefinitely worth a visit. Nothing fishy about this place! The friendly & efficient staff, the wide selecton and the prices are all excellent but come earlier for the best selection and variety. Often free samples of sliced salmon choices are available for tasting. Warning: It's totally unfair to atheists like me, but around both Jewish and certain Christian holidays ( as well as Asian holidays - not sure about Islam) the lines can be very very long (1 to 1.5 hours). So plan accordingly and dress for the weather since the interior lines may very well extend outdoors (unprotected) for quite a bit during the busiest Fridays. Like way down the block! During non-holidays the lines are usually within the interior and short (10 to 15 minutes). The entrance door is a small non-descript gray metal door on Gem Street, next to a large roll-up doorway that may or may not be open ( a cute folding street sign says Fish Fridays). Nearby parking looks to be scarce, often taken up by commercial trucks and rushing fork-lifts in the area. It's 4 or 5 blocks from the Norman street exit of the Nassau Ave. G train subway stop to the east, and a moderately long walk from Williamsburg and the Bedford Ave. L train to the southwest. But quite do-able. You may even see a genuine yuppie along the route. Don't forget to tip the staff - they deserve it.Watch for a few of the staff in fish costumes around Halloween ;-) Plus it's an interesting place to meet a varied cross-section of humanity while waiting on line. If you're into that sort of thing...(i.e. meeting people, not waiting on line). Just remember: They ONLY sell retail to the public on Fridays...
Dear Acme Purveyors. I have been a long time customer of the Acme Co particularly the nova salmon packages. Unfortunately the quality has declined substantially. The sliced salmon is dry, hard, small in size and thickly sliced and no longer soft and buttery. There are also far more blackened pieces within the actual slices. I even study several packages when selecting my 12 oz package at my local Shoprite(s) . The salmon that shows through the plastic looks OK however once we open the package we are not enjoying the velvety slices we have previously loved for so many years. Either the salmon quality or the process has changed. At first we thought it was a "bad" batch of packages. But after 6-7 purchases of the same poor quality we were compelled to bring this to your attention. I would gladly provide you with additional quality feedback. Let me know who to call as I would like to share our experience and help to identify the problem. Sincerely...
