This place gets one star only because it is a cool venue and they play great music, but that's about it. I came here over the weekend for a large planned event. The organizers of the event had their own issues with the venue so I wasn't surprised when I had issues of my own. I approached the bar and ordered two margaritas and was told that they did not have all the proper ingredients but they would make me a drink with what they had. They asked if I wanted a single or double and I asked for a double which was hardly a double by any means. I was given the machine to pay with no itemized break down, left a tip and drank my gross drink. The first round cost me $60 for two "margaritas" served in tiny plastic cups. They didn't seem to have a large selection of drinks so I continued to drink the margarita.
The second time I purchased drinks, I was told they only had one type of tequila left - I said that was fine and I asked for two single margaritas. When I was given the machine to pay, I tapped my card and left a tip. This time I opted to have the receipt texted to me. When I looked at the receipt the next day I was shocked. I was charged for the wrong type of drink, plus an additional amount for the type of tequila I got (which again, was the only kind they had), plus extra for a double (that I did not order) plus a 20% automatic gratuity. This place is clearly double dipping for tips and not telling people it's already included! You are not legally allowed to add automatic gratuity unless it's specifically stated! They also charged tax on top of the subtotal PLUS the tip that they added. They labeled the tip as BBOT 20%. NYS tax law states that the automatic gratuity has to be labeled as gratuity otherwise the merchant can charge tax based on the subtotal and automatically added tip. They are obviously aware of this loophole by labeling the automatic gratuity as BBOT 20% and are charging more tax. I ended up paying $67 for two single margaritas served with the wrong ingredients in plastic cups. I don't even think two drinks in Times Square would cost that much!!
As if that wasn't bad enough, there are no bathrooms here and no one seems to care to clean the dirty smelly porta potties. Staff stands around and does nothing but harass you to see your wrist band when it is clearly on your arm. They barely have any food on their menu, so don't go here looking to eat much. They have on site food trucks but they seem to be taking a page out of tailgates scamming book - I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was not as described and was missing half the ingredients!
It's a shame because this is a cool venue and it would definitely be a good place to catch several games on TV, but I can't patronize a place that clearly is scamming their patrons. Also, who wants to go to a bar with hardly any food...
Read moreJust left this venue after attending YES CHEF FOOD FEST, promoted by Bucketlisters NYC.
Event started at 12p, we arrived at almost 1p. Stood on a long line that reached the furthest street corner opposite the entrance, with about 100 people. Inside was already crowded to the brim by the time we got in, about 30+ minutes later. Couldn’t last longer than an hour in there it was so uncomfortably crowded with 84 degree weather, sun beaming down without cover.
How incredibly irresponsible of this events organizers to try to squeeze hundreds of people in this small space for this type of event!
Cons: Overpopulated Not enough seating for crowd size. Most people were standing around eating their food and being shuffled around because we were either in a crowd flow space, blocking a food line or just a “no standing” zone. Overpriced food. Although the 3 spots I tried after ridiculously long and confusing lines were delicious, food companies were price gouging. horrible to non-existent crowd flow
Pros (for the event organizers): They got my money 🤦🏻♀️ without caring for people’s quality of experience or health regulations. Security was patient and informative
This event should’ve been in a much bigger venue, with at least THREE 3 hour blocks of entry/ ticket...
Read moreI feel like this bar catfished me... The roof was leaking and had giant spots of visible mold on it. The marketing and instagram looked cool but it is easily the worst bar i have ever been to. There are no bathrooms, just three VERY dirty porta potties. They said they created a warm indoor area for winter. There are like six small space heaters above 6 of the tables. Everyone, including staff had winter jackets on. The "indoor" area feels and looks like they made it yesterday out of scrap wood from home depot. Everything looked run down and shabby and its wild to think this is a "new" bar. The bartenders didn't know anything about the drink specials that were promoted on instagram and the guy at the door couldn't find my reservation. It just felt like a coupe of pretentious amateurs own or run this thing.
I'd rather be at a dive bar. Worst of all the place is crazy expensive. I dare you to go here on a Sunday to watch a little football and not want to leave immediately.
Again, the roof is leaking and there is mold on it. I feel like this bar should have paid me to be there but its so expensive and there are minimums i...
