I walked in the store and a kind worker told me there was a 30% sale on, but you had to have the Alo app. I went to download the app on my iPhone, but my Apple password wouldn’t work, and the iPhone instituted a 1 hour security delay before I could reset it with a new password and download the app. I kept shopping and amassed a load of clothes. I asked an attendant for a size L in a pair of shorts, she told me they would bring it down in 2-3 minutes. They never did, and I had to ask 4 or 5 times about the shorts. The last time I asked, she went to someone who looked like a manager and came back and said they had none of the shorts in large.
The same woman who looked like the manager, a black woman with curly hair and a store phone in her hand, came to me in line and told me I needed the app for the sale. I told her I was trying to download it but I forgot my password and was on a security delay with 20 minutes left. Her response: “I’m sorry but we can’t hold these clothes for you because it’s a sale.”
I answered that I hadn’t asked her to hold them for me.
A more courteous, customer service oriented response would have been to tell me I could keep shopping around the store until I could download the app. Instead she defended her rude and unnecessary comment. I decided to keep shopping anyway, but put down some of the items I picked up because the store did not deserve more of my money. I’ll make my purchases online at Alo’s website or app...
Read moreI went to Alo yesterday wearing my Alo pants and all ready to purchase some clothes. Well, I was looking around the store for about 10 minutes and truth be told there were about 4 or 5 people who work there and not one of them greeted me!!(I spent most of my life in NY and was disgusted by the lack of customer service that I been so used to all my life living in NY.)
I then went up to them and told them I was there for 10 minutes and know one even looked at me or said hello and now I got their attention! Well, it was too late. I said I will go back to Philly and shop as I am not interested anymore!
I don’t know who manages this place but not one sales person to acknowledge me??? The Alo store in Philly is A plus for customer service Alo at Columbus Circle get your...
Read moreI placed a mobile order for store pickup at, expecting it to be ready when I arrived (as store pickup should be). When I got there, the staff told me they needed a minute, so I said I’d step out for ten minutes to run a quick errand nearby. When I returned, I ended up waiting another 30 minutes for my order.
For a pickup order, the items should be prepared and bagged ahead of time—I’m not sure why it took so long. The manager and staff seemed completely overwhelmed and disorganized, even though the store wasn’t busy. There were six other people also waiting more than 20 minutes for their pickup orders. Extremely disappointing shopping experience and definitely a negative look for the company. Retrain your staff or...
