Worst H&M in-store shopping experience ever!!!
Today 1/13/2021 around 5:30p, I went to H&M at Columbus circle to return clothes that I bought on 1/5/2021. I went with the brand new clothes in a H&M paper bag and prices tags are still attached to the clothes. I have the original receipt and the gift card that I used on 1/5/2021.
When I was at the store, I browsed about 20 minutes but I couldn’t find anything for exchange. Then I decided to just return the purchase. Store refused my return and told me that the only way for them to accept my return is to do an exchange only!!!! I asked why. I was told because I paid with a H&M GIFT CARD!!!!!
I told them (cash register and the store manager) that I did read the original receipt carefully and nothing indicates that any purchases with gift card payment would not be allowed to return for refund. It actually shows last day to return for refund is February 4th 2021.
Today, what I don’t understand is that why I can’t even have a return back to store credit/gift card like before? And the store manager did not want to help me at all. No any explanations! I did not ask to return for cash. I did ask why I can’t return for store credit. The store manager just said: This is the policy. Then she walked away immediately. The policy she that told me did not match with the policy I see on the H&M original receipt. What’s going on here? Who is the BOSS?
My return is within 30 days. I have the original receipt. Clothes are new and with prices tags. I have the original payment method that was used (the gift card).

The lady at the cashier was so rude. Didn’t even say hello or hi. When I say I would like to return these and purchase that. She was staring at me and said you were supposed to take these out. I was surprised and had to repeat after her , do u want me to take the items out from the bag for you? I took time to fold the clothes and put in the plastic bags before I return cuz I didn’t want the clothes to be dirty. It’s not like I gave her the whole bag and left her to take these out from a bag. If she wants she could just scan them from the outside of the plastic bags.She gave me an attitude and also she was talking to her coworker. She didn’t even pick up and hand me the items I purchased or the receipts. She didn’t even say thank you. Speechless and super annoyed. Will never go shop...

I was on line to pay for a blouse when they asked one of the guys that worked there to take some clients because it was kind of busy. He must've been working on another project because he acted like he didn't want to get on the register. He called " following " so I went to the counter and he didn't greet me, he said " is that it" and I said yes so he rang it up and took my money. He said "You wanna bag" with this attitude and I said no. This is poor customer service if I ever have seen any.
