Well what can I say.
I go here all the time. Mostly been an amazing experience with a great massage. Yesterday I went with specific instructions that I needed special attention to my back/shoulders. Instead I got a passive terrible “rub” for an hour because I refuse to call it a massage. When I left I expressed my disappointment and told the front desk man it was terrible. I called back shortly after to complain. On the phone he told me to come back the next day for a free massage to make up for it.
I have just been back and although Coco who did my massage was amazing, he went back on his word and forced me to pay. When I expressed that the reason I came back was because it was supposed to make up for the absolutely disgusting horrible service I had the day before- he said he never said that. Not sure how he expected that to go, but when I expressed that by paying he’d lose a customer and get a terrible review on Google, he seemed unbothered. So- here’s my advice - if you’re desperate and have no where else to go, visit here. Otherwise steer clear and visit any other spa in NYC who understand the meaning of fair practice and customer...
Read moreI went here because of the good rating online but I left with my spine bruised and needing to ice it for a few days. The massage was very intense in some places (specifically on my neck which I requested twice not to do) and basically just putting lotion on in other places. I am a healthcare professional so at first I thought I was just being overly critical because I have awareness and experience of the body, anatomy, and manual therapy. But as the massage went on I knew my critiques were valid. The masseuse went onto my spine with both their hands and a vibration tool, both of which should not happen. I felt no relief afterward and as mentioned before, my spine was bruised (not the muscles surrounding; my actual spine) and I had to ice it for a few days and was very uncomfortable trying to lie down. I could not leave without being told I must tip. Save your money and your back and find...
Read moreThe reason I am rating one star is that the customer service was so poor that it impacted on what would have been otherwise a good massage and experience
The lady at the counter (didn't get her name) who took my appointment for 630 pm Sat April 2 was already rude when I turned up early for my appointment and so I came back at the right time though I had to wait 15 min and I never complained and waited patiently. Then when I proceeded to pay in cash and I just needed some change after my treatment, she assumed I wouldn't give 15% tip and proceeded to tell me I should. Then when I wanted to give the tip directly to the masseur as I prefer to do she wouldn't let me and put it in the till. I hope my masseur got the tip. I just found this behavior odd and rude and I don't think I will come back again. I do hope the spa can improve their customer service...
