Red Chair Studio — Local services in New York

The salon came recommended to me by a friend of my son who has been going there for a long time. I called them to make an appointment for my son on Saturday and they said they could take me within a half hour. But when I walked over there they said they had made a mistake, had tried to call me (this is true) but they had looked at the wrong day and didn’t have any availability. For a 10-minute kids’ haircut I would’ve thought they could say if you come back in a few hours we can fit you in. Instead, they asked me to return the following day on Sunday where they except walk-ins but that I could not make an appointment for Sunday. When I went in Sunday around 12:30 they told me they were fully booked for the day because people had called to make an appointment (??!) and they could not take me. So they may be great at haircuts but I will never know because my business obviously meant nothing to them. I won’t go back because I was really frustrated with the lack of organization and how unreliable they were. I can get a fine kids haircut at any number of local places for the same price. My partner came to this studio for a last minute haircut prior to going out of town for work subsequently followed up with our scheduled engagement pictures. Not ideal to go somewhere new with important pictures upcoming but we had no choice at this point.

They were able to squeeze him in on a Sunday and he shared with the woman about the importance of this haircut. She insisted that she had plenty of experience to complete it well. All in all, she was lovely and kind.

However, when my partner returned home afterwards, I was shocked by how bad the haircut actually turned out. The fade line was jagged and uneven, there were areas that looked like she had missed them completely. Needless to say, we will be getting this haircut fixed before our pictures - not ideal!

If you need a hair salon that knows what they're doing, go to this one. Natasha and Yurii are the real deal when it comes to hair care. They listen to what you want and give you tailored solutions. My curly, color-treated hair has never looked better since I started going here. They recommended a special treatment that transformed my hair and made it look and feel amazing. What's cool about this place is that they go above and beyond for their clients. During my last visit, they offered me tea while I was getting my hair colored.
