If I could rate less than 1 star I would. I've been a Pio Pio customer FOR YEARS. My fave dish of choice is the calamari and the infamous green sauce. I've dined in and had it delivered through Uber Eats. Today I placed an order for the calamari, it looked so good and tasty at first sight---all golden and crispy on the outside, but the inside---it was comparable to beef jerky. I really tried to eat it, but I just couldn't do it. I phoned the restaurants to complain to no avail. I asked for the manager but was told that Pio Pio has none. They said they had a manager cook, but that he didn't speak English. I told the woman, la comida es horrible. ) thanks to my 9th-grade Spanish teacher. She put me on hold, and I thought okay, maybe they're going to give me a refund or tell me to stop in for a comp meal one day. Nope. The same woman had a conversation with the manager chef. He told her that the delivery food was different, not going to be crunchy like in the restaurant. Well I know that (as I said, I've ordered calamari before using delivery). My complaint was the Run-DMC tougher than leather calamari that had sadly not been tenderized. No more chances Pio Pio. Get somebody else to do it. The overly-saturated oily, tough calamari has yet again proved to prevail. To be honest, I mastered how to make tender calamari because of this (I didn't have any in the house today). And I stopped ordering anything from Pio Pio other than the green sauce. I usually make my own calamari, or get a Costco whole-baked chicken. And the sauce is so thin and soupy now. My solution? Mix that green sauce with some mayo, it makes the best aioli dipping sauce ever. With times being as tough as they are, no one has money to throw away, so back to me just getting the green sauce. -$6 for the big container and I'm out $30. Consider yourself warned.

I think the taste is very good, but the meat quality itself is not bringing out the taste. That’s not to say the food is bad— if you’re used to chicken that doesn’t taste chalky, you know what I mean when I say the meat quality is holding the taste back. That said, their chicken is not chalky until you get to some of the inner parts, and I LOVE the way the skin tastes. The beef smells very good, but I find the meat a little hard to bite into. The mixto ceviche is the best I’ve had in a long time, because they actually give you a variety of fish and it’s not just two pieces of fish. The sangria is house made but a bit too sweet for our liking. I was surprised to see no pisco on the menu. Overall, the food tastes better than the photos show.

This was my first time trying Peruvian food. I was very impressed. I had the Matador Combo. At first, I was about to order another selection from the menu, but our waiter told us the Matodor combo is enough food for two. She was definately telling the truth. It was more than enough for two, and the price was very reasonable. All the food was AMAZING! The Sangria was okay. I think it would taste better with a mix of fruit in it. Google gave me directions to the location closest to me. Pio Pio 3 is very small inside; a bit tight. Very intimate I would say. Since they have 9 locations in all, I would prefer to try another location that is not so tight. Overall, I had no complaints. I enjoyed myself, and the food was AMAZING!

I love Pio Pio. I usually visit the original location in Jackson Hts, which is always great! This location, while the food was good. The service definitely was not. The server was non-attentive. Besides just serving the food, and providing the check, he was non existent. He never came to ask how everything was. Never provided water. Never asked if we needed more napkins when it was utterly obvious we did.We advised that we wanted to take our leftovers home, and instead of packing up everything, he just dropped the containers and plastic bag on the table, like this was a diner. The server never even asked if we wanted dessert. I would understand, sort of, if the restaurant was super busy. But it was not. There were three couples in total, on a very rainy Thursday evening. I hate to say it, but this server was just plain lazy. The experience left a really Bad taste in my mouth, despite the food being good. I will never visit this...

Very dissatisfied. Initially I ordered the Ceviches, really wanted some green vegetables with fish, this river fish from ? So. America came with onions, rare peppers.. potatoes..but went for. It came ice cold when I was expecting a hot meal, one small clump of sweet potato, one cold white potato, cold fish smelled, cold small piece corn on cob. Very unappealing for $15.00. Sent back. Waitress grabbed dish, angry like. Please!! Really wanted a lower carb meal than the standard fare....ordered 1/4 chicken, & avocado salad with greens. Chicken was a tiny leg, unimpressive...with salad that was so soaked in dressing, yuck. Could not tell if it was Romaine, hope not with ecoli outbreak, & CDC saying no Romaine is safe. Terrible meal. Why no vegetables, sorry only at lunch, the waitress said. What? Service with an attitude. Never going back. RIP off, if ever one. Tried to add pictures, but no access to do. Hate spending good money on sub...
