In the cultural desert that is the Upper East Side there is one oasis - The Spellman Gallery - the lone outpost of taste and kool above 14th St. It's a unique place with Frank Stella on the walls and original Blue Notes in the well curated record racks, leopard coats from the 60s, Hermes scarves & Louis Vuitton bags. It's not the biggest space but every inch has been thought through and arranged with care and even casual visits turn up something interesting. A friendly, knowledgeable staff (no snobbery here) and nice prices. Stop by and take a look, I can't imagine anyone not finding at least one thing they want...
