This store is awful. I recommend highly going elsewhere.
We purchased a couch that had a chaise and was supposed to fit in the corner of our living room. After looking at the receipt, my wife noticed the order had the chaise on the wrong side. We went back to the store the next day, and alerted the salesman, who brought the issue to his manager. After gesturing and drawing pictures, explaining exactly what we needed, and why we thought the order was incorrect, the manager claimed that he had a ton of experience, and knows what he’s doing, and that the order was in fact, correct.
Today the couch was to be delivered. The delivery guy looked at the space, and immediately knew the couch was incorrect. The “experienced” manager actually knew less than people with zero experience selling furniture. We sent the sofa back with the truck, and called Ashley to see if they could make things right. Nope. First, they had to determine whose fault it was that they messed up the order. Then, instead of delivering the correct couch to our house as soon as humanly possible, they said the replacement delivery would take 4-6 weeks. But also, we had to wait for them to scan the furniture back into the warehouse before anything happened.
We purchased this couch in full on December 26, 2024. Delivery was supposed to occur on January 21, 2025, nearly a month later. It seemed like a long time, but we were ok with waiting. We heard nothing from Ashley about delivery. We called up on the 21st asking about delivery and they told us we were scheduled for February 6. Just awful customer service.
If you’re keeping tabs, the manager there doesn’t know enough about furniture to order the correct sofa, they lied about the delivery date, they don’t attempt to rectify their errors in a timely manner, and cannot admit when they’ve made a massive mistake. Additionally, they don’t seem to realize that there are other furniture chains in NYC that not only sell the same brands of furniture, but actually make an effort to serve their customers too. Ashley just gave us an attitude that they just expect us to wait 4-6 weeks because of their massive screw up. Completely unacceptable.
Further, I understand the salespeople in furniture stores typically need to hustle to make commissions, but they will not leave you alone in this place. It’s borderline harassment after you walk through the door.
I went to Raymour and Flanagan and had a very pleasant experience, and we only went to Ashley because of the location. I definitely will be going elsewhere in future...
Read moreOn Nov. 11th I purchased a table set from Ashley furniture on Staten Island. I had to wait until December for the delivery. Upon receiving the delivery there was a very very large crack down about 1/3rd of the table. I quickly told the delivery guys who reported it and customer service called me while they were there. I was told their policy is to send out a technician to look at the table to see if it can be repaired before issuing me a new one. They said I would have to wait up to 4 days for this person to call me to come. I waited......heard nothing. I had to call back myself and ask what was going on because I hadn't heard from anyone. The new representative said she had no idea why someone would say they were sending a tech because my table was unrepairable. I had to wait until Jan 4th for the new table to be delivered and had to host the holidays with this large embarrassing crack down the table. Reminding you I purchased this table NOVEMBER 11th!! The week the table was supposed to be delivered I get a call that they can't deliver it anymore the 4th and have to reschedule and couldn't come again until the 18th of January!!! I spoke to someone from the Staten Island location to see if they would refund me the delivery fee since I had to wait so so long and they canceled on me the second time and I was told someone would get back to me in 2 days...that never happened.
After waiting so long for the second delivery what's another 3 weeks right? So the 18th arrives and the new table ALSO CAME DAMAGED AS WELL!!!!!!!! That's right...second table was also damaged. At this point I was very annoyed because it was another day off I spent waiting for a table about over 2 and half months of waiting to get another damaged table. I called seeking compensation or to see what they would offer me to just keep the second damaged table and do you know what they offered me?!?!?! 50$....that's correct...50$ when I paid over 1500$ for the table set and waited multiple days off to still to this day not have a table without damage.
They offered me nothing for all the hassle I had to go though and for the fact that it's JAN 20th and I still don't have the table I paid for is a joke. This company is disgraceful and I have never been so dissatisfied in my entire life and the customer service could of cared less.
NEVER EVER use this company and I will NEVER use them again in the future...HIGHLY...

We spent over 5,400 at there store. When we decided to purchase the items we were told that delivery will take 2-6 weeks. I asked the salesperson if this delivery date was accurate and if they could really get it to me in 2-6 weeks. i was told yes and this was a major reason why i decided to go with Ashley home store on staten island. The 2-6 week delivery date was even written on my invoice. I made the purchase on august 7, 2018. It is now October,3,2018 and i still have not received any of items that i ordered. Since the2- 6 week deadline ended, i have been calling the store and been getting told by the office manager that my furninture is still not ready and they are still waiting for pieces and i might not received the items i ordered for another week or even two.i called today and was told that they could only delivered my bedroom set but not my other two items cause they still are not ready. i am being told that my bedroom set will be delivered by next week which would be over two weeks then what they promised me and i still won't have my couch or dinning room table, they have no clue when that will be here. Before i contacted Ashley i never received a text, call, or even email telling me what is going on with my ordered. i had to call and find out. i guess i was lied to about the delivery date just so they could get the sale and my money. if i knew this was gonna be a problem i would have cancel my order or not even purchased it in the first place. Now i am stuck. my wife, child and me have no table to eat on. we have no couch and have to sit on folding chairs. this is so unprofessional. i was gonna purchase more items from Ashley but this has completely turn me off. I never even was offer a apology from the store manager or salesperson. i was just told that this isn't there fault and there is nothing they can do. what a shame.
Update 10/4/2018: ashley responded to this review saying i should contact them by email. It seems they responded to every review with the generic response, I did what they said and sent them a email. . It has been over 24 hrs and i still haven’t received a response...
