I came to Best Buy with a very challenging issue. I live in Bensonhurst Brooklyn. My daughter-in-law wanted a Samsung Galaxy Ring. She never asked for it but always eyed it. This year she so kind to me and helpful and I really wanted her to know how much I appreciated all her help and love. So on December 12, 2024 we stopped by the Best Buy store in Woodbridge NJ. I bought the ring with her there. We sized the ring and there was a $50 gift card given at the time. Both the Samsung Rep and the Best Buy Rep were involved in this purchase. Her husband took the ring and held it till Christmas. When she opened it, the ring was too large. I began the process of figuring out how to exchange it. She had a size 10 and needed a size 9. There were no size 9 rings locally. We had till January 15th to exchange the ring. So today January 5th we set out on a journey to get her the right size. After several days of research, none of the local stores had the ring size. Staten Island recorded one ring left in that size as did two other stores. We decided to go to the Staten Island Store as it had the easiest access and I am handicapped.
When we got to the store the rep said they did not have any more rings in stock but that they could have one shipped to us. No problem, what is a couple of days. Then they began to process the exchange. All of a sudden we had to pay an additional $50 to make up for the gift card. We looked at each other and, after some discussion, realized we would be beat out of $50. So as we progressed up the management level, we finally were talking with the Store Manager. In his favor, he would have to deal with an open-box product for which his store was not responsible for creating. The ring was no longer on sale with a gift card and he could not rewire the system to just accept a discount. It got very heated yet thoughtful. In the end the manager got the size nine ring from the back of the store, used promotions to make the price drop and did a really good job. It may be that this cost him. Samsung should be happy to have such a rep on their side. Selling a ring is not the same as a phone or watch. This was very complicated, which is not Best Buy's fault. In the end, It was not about anyone being right but creating a satisfied customer. I do respect what he did and for that reason, his store gets 5 solid stars. My guess this cost his store points when it came to profitability, yet he did the right thing. If you are listening, Thank...
Read moreI unfortunately have to say I have a very disappointing time at bestbuy. As a lover of tech who bought two drones, a switch, ray ban metas, and many other pieces of tech from this specific bestbuy, I have had a horrible experience that involved cops being called on me and forcing em to leave. Is a scam going in with the employees? Or is negligence? Did they just not notice they sold me a go pro 13 that substituted form a broken 11? Or did they do it intentionally to put money I their pockets? If the equipment is in the hard cases that need keys to unlock, and the open boxes are in the back of the store, then how was someone going around switching the go pros with broken ones? Was it an employee? Or is it just a story?
I bought a GoPro 13 creator kit open box in excellent condition. Got home and found a fried broken go pro 11 inside the case, with the rest of the creator kit being there in ok conditions. I brought it back to the store and was an excuse in how they had a person switching out the go pros for broken ones but the nipped it in the butt. When I pointed out that they failed to take the broken ones off the floor, they tried to claim what they just said as hersay. So I revealed I had it on recording and I'm New York city it's legal to record one way, they called the cops on me for trespassing after issuing me my refund and refusing to allow me to shop their. Nypd officers who arrived took their side regardless of the video evidence showing them admit to knowing about the defective kits.
I attached the “excellent condition go pro 13 creators kit” they gave me.
If the owner of best busy see this, I would like you to know that I video and evidence of the situation and I would like to share it with you to show true transplanted in how I was treated. Someone’s who’s been a long time customer. So long in fact I remember holding my mothers hand walking through that store, and now I’m a grown man who treated less then human by your staff. And when I exposed them they then acted like a victim and called the cops on me, even though the political climate now in days could’ve made things escalate so much that people could’ve gotten hurt. Well more than me. Seeming I lost my ability to shop in your store, and I can’t access my funds until my bank releases them. All because I was scammed and giving a destroyed 11 when I paid for a 13. Honest to god. All I wanted was my 13...
Read moreI cannot praise the guys at the Richmond Avenue "Best Buy" in Staten Island enough for assisting me in selecting replacements for my cellphone and selecting a tablet. These guys were so generous with their knowledge and time, taking turns so other customers were also being tended to. Bryan, Nick and Chris were so patient with this "non-tech" savvy gal without making me feel inept... explaining everything to me in easy to comprehend terms. I love these guys! Thanks and hugs guys. So, this is my latest interaction with Staten Island Best Buy on Richmond Avenue...went back to buy an Air Conditioner...mine crapped out on me just before this horrific heat wave we've currently been experiencing. I sat with the people working that area of the store and after going through a few different models and their benefits I settled in a GE 14,000BTU model. Due to my being late in the game as the demands for installation were high, I had to wait over a week before installation was done. I endured subhuman heat in my apartment but got through it with a new standup fan I purchased at Best Buy...and lots of prayer. Ultimately, my AC was scheduled to be installed on my Birthday but due to rain it was postponed until three days later. It is against policy for technician's to install electrical device CES during inclimate weather. But, three days later the Geek Squad good time their word showed up early and preformed a miracle as far as I'm concerned...within twenty minutes the shock to my organs from existing in hell for over a week of almost 100 degrees beating down on my attic apartment was over! I went from sizzling to welcomed cold I still am amazed at...my apartment, thanks to this Window AC from GE, has maintained a cool 68 degrees...if not for Sebastian the "Miracle Worker" and the other individual who's name I forgot who assisted in the installation I literally would have been a puddle melted from extreme heat exposure... Sebastian and Company are my new heros.. Fast installation...a few operating pointers...removal if my dead AC...and no trace of packaging left on my floor and I was in a very cool place. Great guys...great service...the Geeks get...
