I just arrived in NYC, went to this store today to get mobile data. At first I was greeted and dealt with in a friendly and professional manner by a male sales rep. I wasnt getting through with data however at any of the phone stores so desperate for data, being a female traveling alone, I decided to try buying a sim from a pharmacy and returning to this store to try to see if it may work. However, on returning, I was dealt with by a woman who was extremely rude, unprofessional, sarcastic and condescending. Me:hi, I came in earlier and dealt with a man, I'm having trouble getting data on my phone (explains why I wasn't getting through) so I decided to try buying a sim card and data from a pharmacy to see if it would work. Sales rep: *rude sarcastic tone * so you bought a sim card for a phone that doesn't work. Me:my phone works, it's an unlocked S8 bought in the USA. Her: you should really listen to the sales reps here. Me: well he did tell me that AT&T is having a problem with android pre paid at the moment, I'm not familiar with your phone services here. Her(cutting me across and speaking over me) : we don't do anything under S10 or I phones, it won't work. She went on like this for a while, cutting me across, not allowing me to speak much. I asked to speak with the previous guy I dealt with. In speaking with him, I was enquiring about if I had a newer phone, if I would be able to get data (I was strongly considering purchasing a newer phone) . She heard me and shouted across the room at me "Do you have an s10 or higher?" Me (in shock at her behavior) :no Her(shouting) :well that's the problem! At this point I tried getting her to understand where I was coming from, so I told her I just wanted information as to if it would work with a newer model phone. She answered me in a very rude manner, still shouting across the room. I said thank you and left. I visited all the other provider stores in times Square in my search this morning and everyone else was super helpful and understanding. If you are considering getting a new phone with AT&T consider this: 3 years is a long time to deal with non-existent service once you are in the contract. We pre-bought 2 Samsung Z Flig 5 phones, arrived on the same day, and my friend has had nothing but hellish customer service, always overseas, and always a long, long wait time. Even though the phone was under warranty, (not the 'he broke it' warranty, but the "phone was defective warranty", because there is a difference according to AT&T), he is still paying full price for a used phone. They sent him a used phone to replace his brand new phone that AT&T tech support reps told us was faulty when it would not install system software updates after the first 3 months. The Ubreak IFixit rep and a Samsung rep both told us that there was probably never anything wrong with his new phone. Soon after he got the used phone, we realized it only had 128Gb, instead of the 512Gb he had with the new phone. Took 3 months to fix that and the service all the way up to the President's office was horrendous. The next used phone began to have lines on the perimeter of the screen. AT&T reps used the date of the first incorrect used phone they sent him as the date to deny him any further assistance. We were advised at the Ubreak it store that AT&T knows there are screen issues with the phone to begin with so not worth the money to replace the screen. Ā Ā Ā Read more2 months ago my company decided to use ATT services. In the office they offered me 5 phone lines for $35 each + I've bought a hotspot device. The rep and the manager told me and my assistant, that the amount due will be around $200 every months for all services. it seemed so weird for us that for so many devices and services we should pay only $200. We cleared that moment several times and the answer was the same - just $200 per months for everything. By the way, they hold me in the office around 5 hours... A month later i had to cancel subscription and services of ATT , returned all the devices and payed for the returning $55 for each device (in total $55*5) And then i got the 1st bill for $763. I went to the office the clarify situation, they told me that they are unable to help me. Then I called support and they told me to wait for the next bill. 17 days later i got one more bill for $868!!!!! I spent my time, went to the office again and connected a rep and the man over the phone (support). It appeared that the office created my services for several groups (it is much cheaper if you have 1 group especially if your business is as small as ours) and also they told me that we had 5 installments for all the devices! And the average total amount due for me could be around $400!!! EVERY!!!! months if I stayed with ATT!!! Iāve read the reviews here and on forums, and I understood that this is a common routine practice for this office. CHOOSE ANOTHER CARRIER.
