After the recent passing of my immediate family member, a proud veteran, I was entrusted with fulfilling their wish to be buried with military honors. This was my first time planning a funeral, and with family members visiting from out of state who were familiar with Southern funeral traditions, the pressure to accommodate everyone's needs felt overwhelming. Fortunately, my search for funeral homes in Harlem led me to Bailey’s Funeral Home.

From the moment I met with Mahalia, any anxiety I had about planning the service began to ease. Bailey’s expertise with military honors and the National Cemetery for Veterans assured me I was in capable hands. Mahalia guided me through every aspect of the process, from finding a reverend and a church to planning the repast. She even suggested a local restaurant for catering services. What I appreciated most was Mahalia’s approach. She provided several options without making me feel pressured to accept any of them, and she was incredibly flexible with last-minute requests. From getting the shock of the sudden passing of our Mom to having to plan her homegoing, I immediately went on Google to search for a fast, efficient and caring Funeral home that understood how we wanted to lay our Mother to rest. I first contacted Bailey's funeral home and got the info immediately by email from Mahelia. We wanted to keep our options open, so we contacted four (4) other funeral homes and let me tell you, the info was not forthcoming and some didn't even offer their condolences or had a clue of what package offer we were looking for.
