Dear Store Manager
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Vaja Mania, and I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding a recent visit to your Banana Republic store located at 101 Liberty St #1420, NY, 10006.
On August 5th, at around 7 pm, I visited the 2nd floor of your store with my friend. Unfortunately, our shopping experience was marred by an incident involving one of your staff members. I feel it is important to bring this matter to your attention, as it greatly impacted my perception of your store.
During our visit, your staff member went beyond the scope of her duties and proceeded to impose her political views on us, particularly about my home country, Georgia, and Ukraine. She expressed support for Russia's actions, which deeply offended and hurt me, as I have lost dear people in the conflict with Russia.
Furthermore, she mocked and sarcastically questioned the history and experiences of my country, showing a lack of sensitivity and empathy. While I understand that individuals are entitled to their opinions, such behavior is highly unprofessional and unacceptable in a customer service setting.
As a customer, I believe that political discussions have no place in a retail environment, and it is crucial for store employees to maintain a neutral and respectful stance towards customers' diverse backgrounds and experiences.
I kindly request that you address this issue promptly by taking appropriate actions with the staff member in question. Such behavior reflects poorly on your store's reputation and does not align with the values of inclusivity and respect for customers.
I believe in the importance of constructive feedback and hope that this incident will serve as an opportunity for improvement in your store's customer service practices. I trust that you will take the necessary steps to ensure that no other customer has to endure a similar experience in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you require any further information. I look forward to hearing from you and witnessing positive changes in your store's...
Read moreI arrived at this Banana Republic location within 5 mins of closing with a return. It has been my past experience (at other retailers) that when a customer arrives within such close proximity to closing the staff is less than enthused to render any type of assistance let alone any semblance of customer service. This was not the case here. The associate who assisted me did so without missing a beat. I felt bad pulling him away from his closing duties however he made me feel comfortable and valued despite my tardiness in getting my return in on time. It was a much welcomed moment of humility and kindness that us New Yorker's just don't partake in enough. I do not remember his name but he was one of two associates closing the store the night of Saturday August 31, 2019. This employee is a fabulous representative of the Gap Inc./Banana Republic brand and his exceptional customer service should...
Read moreI flew from San Francisco to New York and checked in our hotel. As I was unpacking, I realized that I forgot to pack my jeans and all I had to wear was a pair of leggings and a dressy skirt in the middle of winter for a 3 days of funeral related events. It was nearly 6 PM and I had to be at a funeral at 9 AM the next day. A quick search online showed this store was close and open for another hour. The panicked look on my face when I asked for the women’s section must have been apparent. The sales associate called up and Andrew greeted me at the top of the stairs. He and another colleague helped me as I went tried on the various options. Thankfully I was able to find a pair and I didn’t have to borrow a pair from my nieces. I will be forever grateful for the help so that I could focus on supporting my family during this difficult time. Thank you to the incredible staff...
