I really like this hotel and I would definitely stay here again. It's conveniently located next to a lot of attractions in the financial district if that's what you're interested in. I come to New York every year at the end of October so staying in midtown is something that I actually want to avoid so I really like this area. Super convenient Subway entrance literally right across the street from the door of the hotel. That was fantastic and we used it very often and felt very safe getting off at night cuz the hotel was right there.
Some of the pros were to us that the bad was super comfortable and it was very clean and the staff was really nice. We had no issues.
Some of the cons are that the lighting system in the room kind of is weird and you have to turn on the light switch by the door that illuminates the door area to turn on the lightsthat are bedside or in the bathroom. So that means in the middle of the night if you want to turn the bathroom light on or just the light by your nightstand or desk, you have to get up turn that light switch on and then the whole room will be illuminated. If you have a smaller room with a king-size bed and someone else is sleeping that's going to wake everybody up. Also there was a fan seemingly that was over the shower area and when we took our first shower it kind of just came on randomly. We thought maybe there was a sensor somewhere but then it didn't turn off until later. And then the second shower that was taken the fan didn't come on at all. Two more showers later one time the fan worked so neither switch in the bathroom seem to turn it off and we're not sure what was going on with that. You definitely need to have a fan in the bathroom because after a shower it gets steamy obviously so that was interesting.
one of the other things that was slightly less than perfect was I booked the hotel room through booking.com for a room and flight package just to make it easier on myself. There were no issues at check-in or check out because of that but I had called the hotel directly two times prior to arriving and neither time did anybody tell me about a deposit. That was no problem for us but I had read some reviews saying that there was a $200 deposit required which would go on your credit or debit card and you couldn't use cash for. We just gave a credit card and they pre-authorized $100. That's super important for people to know because if you come there especially if you're traveling abroad only with cash I'm not sure if they would take it. So you just need to be really careful and double-check that probably several times before arriving. Also when I called one time I didn't know whether to push to talk to somebody at the front desk or in reservations.first time I talked to somebody at the front desk who had said that they had added a name to the room because I wasn't sure if the person staying with me would get in at the same time. They said that they would be able to hold our bags also prior to check in. I called back a second time and I spoke to somebody in reservations. She told me that not only was there not a name added but I needed to call booking.com to get that name added. She also told me that the hotel does not hold bags. I was really frustrated by that. So then I called booking.com and they told me that they can't add names to the room that I needed to talk to the hotel, but she assured me she would do that for me. She called and talked to somebody at the front desk that apologized for what reservations had said. They confirmed they added the name to the Roman also that they can hold bags. So I'm not sure if the reservations was just a general reservation's number I called the number direct to the hotel and pushed for reservations so maybe they just gave an overall but that whole situation was frustrating to me as somebody coming in from out of town obviously I want to be given accurate information.
Other than that which wasn't that big of a deal to me, everything was great. Room was super clean everybody in the staff was friendly. Nice...

I stayed at this hotel from February 15 to February 19 for 4 nights and requested housekeeping twice during my stay. On my last night, I had to leave for the airport 3 3 AM for a 7 AM flight to Miami. While packing around 1 AM, I noticed that a LEGO paper bag I had placed on the floor was missing. Inside the bag were New York souvenirs (keychains, magnets) worth approximately $100.
Frustrated, I immediately went down to the front desk to report the issue. The staff on duty assured me they would investigate and promised to contact me by 10 AM on February 19. However, I never received any follow-up.
The next morning, after arriving in Miami, I was packing again and realized that my sunglasses were also missing. That’s when I remembered they had been inside the LEGO bag. Three days later, still with no response from the hotel, I called them myself. A different staff member answered, and her attitude was extremely rude—not only did she fail to offer an apology, but she also showed zero concern for the missing items. Instead, she simply told me to email a list of lost items and their total value.
I sent an email with a detailed list, including my sunglasses, and a few hours later, the housekeeping manager reached out. I explained that I preferred to have my belongings returned rather than receive compensation and requested a thorough investigation. The manager initially seemed understanding and promised to do their best.
However, after several days of silence, I called again on February 25. This time, the housekeeping manager’s attitude had completely changed. He claimed that their investigation found that the housekeeping staff and supervisor had entered my room but never discarded a LEGO bag. He offered no apology and spoke to me in an extremely rude and dismissive manner.
At this point, I was beyond frustrated. If the housekeeping staff didn’t take my belongings, then who did? If, as he claimed, the housekeeping staff did not discard it, then someone must have stolen it, which makes me believe that this hotel has extremely poor security. Either way, it is completely unacceptable that a guest’s belongings disappeared while under the hotel’s care, and their lack of accountability only made things worse.
To make matters worse, I felt that their attitude changed the moment I left New York—as if they thought they no longer had to deal with me. Instead of helping, they became increasingly dismissive and rude over time.
If you’re considering staying here, be extremely cautious with your belongings. The hotel provides poor service, lacks accountability, and has serious security concerns. I strongly advise against booking a stay here unless you’re prepared to risk your valuables disappearing with...
Read moreI've been to NYC twice before, but this was my first visit to Hotel Indigo | Financial District.
I stayed for 2 nights (a Saturday & Sunday) in 1 King Bed Standard room using 84k points. As a Platinum Elite member, I contacted the property prior to arrival & requested early check-in & a high floor room with a view of Trinity Church. I was assigned room #3006.
CHECK-IN: I arrived at approximately 12:30 PM & was told my room was not yet ready, but since the room had not been used the night prior, it should only be an hour or two. Unfortunately, it was not ready until 4:15 PM.
• Amenities: Coffee maker, hair dryer, one luggage rack, mini fridge (stayed very cold!) & hangers. No microwave. • Bath: Plenty of hot water & medium pressure. • Bed: Very comfortable bed & pillows • Cleanliness: Standard. Housecleaning knocked on my door at 5:30 PM on Sunday, at which point I was resting before dinner, so they did not make up my room. • Decor: Standard • Heating/cooling: It was a humid weekend in NYC, so the room was very, very muggy. I tried to set the thermostat to a consistent 70° but every few hours (17:00, 19:00, 22:00 & 6:00) the thermostat would revert to 72°. I could manually override one hold, but it would revert back to the next hold after a few hours. • Sound: Very quiet. I did not hear other guests or traffic. • TV: Large TV, clear picture & a decent number of channels. I liked the streaming capabilities. • View: Incredible view of Trinity Church! • WiFi: Worked well • Other: The room size is substantially smaller than the average hotel in the US. Lighting: This was the biggest issue in the room. You can not use any lights, including the bedside, tabletop lamps or bathroom, unless the main switch is on, which lit up the entire room. This was quite frustrating while trying to relax in the evening. Security: I did not like that the elevators did not require key card access. Anyone can walk in.
DRINKS/FOOD: No complimentary breakfast provided, nor did I eat at the restaurant on-site. FYI: The ice machine can be found on floor 2.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Polite & professional. Although, I sense the hotel is understaffed.
LOCATION/PARKING: • Location: Excellent, close to public transportation & restaurants. I highly recommend pizza from Siena (only a 1 minute walk away!). • Parking: Not needed
Would I...
