My friend found Bodega Truck from an Eater video; it was our first time trying out Chop Cheese and I'm so glad we got to try it out!

Service: The guy working the truck, who I believe is also the owner, was very nice and patient as we asked questions about the menu. Food came out fairly quickly and after, we were able to snag a couple of benches around the park to sit on.

Food: The Chop Cheese sandwiches are served with a bun and it seemed very fresh. For the price, they're pretty decently sized. For each order, you also get one of those nostalgic burger gummy snack things.

-The OG ($9): with lettuce, tomato and Bodega sauce -The MC Chop'd ($11): with lettuce, tomato, onions, and Bodega Mac Sauce-- tasted like a Big Mac! -El Dominicano Bodega Fries ($13): you can order Bodega fries by choosing whatever topping you want from the chop cheese menu. This was a large amount, perfect to share.

Overall: I can't speak to how it compares to other chop cheese places since this is my first one, but this was pretty damn good in my opinion! Will definitely come back next time I go...

High prices and food was mediocre, besides a chop cheese in the real bodega store on my block and many other blocks in the Bronx is only $5 with a can of soda, so why pay $13 dollars over here, makes no sense. If they want more business they should make a $5 deal lunch special from like 11am to 3 pm all chop chess sandwiches on $5 lunch special, or a kids out of school special from 2pm to 5 pm all kids with a backpack or school ID eat for $5 bucks. In todays economy people like sales and food deals especially parents like me with two kids, imagine we all went to eat there it would cost $30 for 3 sandwiches and if we want fries and a drink about $50 bucks, it's to expensive. For that I'll go to the corner store and spend $20 bucks on 3 $5 dollar chop cheese, some 50 cent soda pop and chips, or the food truck owner makes a good deal for the neighborhood and I'll go spend my money their at his truck, but not at those high prices though. Hope they read this and listen and make some kind of deal for the neighborhood, like buy 2 sandwiches regular price get 1 sandwich free,...

Second time I saw this food truck at the Dyckman St and wasn’t really sure what food it was about all I know Latin so I decided to give a try and ordered me the Hot Chick which it’s a buffalo chicken sandwich like and onion rings. Ohh I love onion rings but not everybody can make them right but to my surprise this were pretty good, crunchy yet delicious you can’t go wrong with it. Then I moved on to my sandwich and I was thinking..wait a minute, did this guys made a mistake and gave me an egg & cheese sandwich? Because of the roll white breast they serve it on!! I swear it tastes like that but no, it was a chicken sandwich after all, it was tasty and I would definitely order it again but wish they can switch to a better more artisan kind of bread because in my humble opinion this sandwich needs a crunchy taste when you start eating it. But over all I think not bad for less than 20 bucks that including the onion rings, my order was fast and the guys were super friendly. Sorry no photo available cause there was...

Ehhh it was okay. The “k lo k fries” were good and the chop cheeses are unique but everything is really over priced especially for the Bronx where a real bodega chop cheese is just $5 with a drink. Plus you also have to go out your way to get to the truck where ever it’s at to try the food when you can just go to your local corner store to get the same thing but cheaper. The concept is awesome and I love the creativity and thought that the owner put into this but my problem is how the chop cheeses aren’t really out of this world they just have a twist that you could probably add in a normal deli. We bought a “down the block” chop cheese, a “regular shhmegular” chop cheese, & the “k lo k” fries and it came out to $40. They take card though so that’s a plus lol. I think it’s an awesome thing to try once but to go here every chance I get… ummm maybe not.

I first heard about the Bodega food truck from a YouTube video by Eater, and I knew I had to try it. So, when I finally had the chance to visit New York, I made a trip to Williamsburg to check it out—and it did not disappoint. The service was great, the portions were huge, and I can’t recommend it enough. I heard they’re closing the food truck to open a real restaurant, which is exciting, but there’s something special about the food truck experience, so it’s a bit of a shame for those who never got to try it. Wishing all the best to the owner—he’s an amazing person, and you can tell by the way he serves his customers. If you get the chance, definitely give it a try!
