It’s sad because I come here almost every morning for my red eye and chocolate croissant. Not the friendliest staff, but the coffee is good. A few times I ordered a couple of items for my office staff only to find out they forgot to include a few items in the bag. Since I’m already at work, I didn’t go back or call to say anything. I just let it slide. One time I ordered 3 chocolate croissants and they only have me 2. Another time I ordered a few macaroons and they forgot to include a few. But today they drew the line with me. I went there this morning and ordered $31 worth of breakfast to go for my friend and I. I live in the area so I come here a lot. I’m with my service dog and after I Pay, she hands me all my items plus my coffee which I can barely hold. So I asked her for a bag. She said she can’t give me a bag unless I pay 15 cents. I understand that’s the new policies now. Stores have to charge a bag fee. But you would’ve thought a customer that comes here every day, who supports your business even after they messed up a few times, I couldn’t get a paper bag unless I paid 15 cents. At first I felt like just saying ok refund me for everything then because obviously I can’t carry all this. But I didn’t I just internalized it. And if it’s a big order like that, they should already include the bag fee. It’s pretty obvious we’ll need a bag. Or do you want me to carry my box of croissants on my head???
I can’t find myself supporting this place ever again, and yes!!!...
Read moreThe server we dealt with was extremely rude. When we came in for brunch, we were told the seating was only for people ordering for the brunch menu, we confirmed with the staff at the register and our friends who we went with (and frequent the place), and we were told that it was fine to order from both the front and from the brunch menu, which we informed him about. We had intended to order mostly from the brunch menu and a few items from the front for the kids. When we finally managed to sit down, the server came back immediately. We had barely had a chance to look at the menu and was rude again (telling us to get along quickly and make sure that we order from the brunch menu). This was at a time on Sunday morning when the place was not packed and had ample seating. This is the first restaurant I have walked out of for rude staff in almost 2 decades. I had lived in and around NYC for close to 10 years, and this, by far, has been the worst service staff anywhere. We ended up going to a spot a few blocks away, which was great. Needless to say, neither our friends nor we will be visiting this...
Read moreAmbiance (5/5): Lovely little café with indoor and outdoor seating. Some serviced seating as well as order at the front and sit yourself space as well. The bright colors and openness gives the café a lot of charm. There's foreign products along the inside of the store (not sure if they can be purchased). Service (5/5): The staff was super friendly and struck conversations while we dined (not forcefully so). They have regulars with dogs who come to visit and love the staff too. They were quick to attend to us. We would have sat for longer but we were politely told to give up our table at around the hour mark to seat a bigger party :( Food: Eggs Benedict (5/5): The $23 plate came with a nicely dressed salad with veggie variety and well done fries that were cooked with the perfect crunch! The eggs benedict hollandaise sauce was a bit too tart for my preference but otherwise cooked with a perfect runny poached egg. My friend had their crepe that looked pretty good. Definitely will want to return to try the rest...
