Big time let down. First off they got no broccoli rabe. What type of Italian deli/market in Brooklyn has no broccoli rabe? That was the 1st red flag. 2nd it's filled w/ goofy yuppies. I know the neighborhood has changed alot over the years but there's still pleanty of Italians in Carroll Gardens. It seems they all know not to go here.. 3rd my sandwitch was built all wrong. Completely discombobulated. The peppers were under the sad soggy cutlettes & there was barely any mozzerella. Let me explain how to build a sandwitch MEAT/CHEESE/TOPPING. Then to make matters even worse the dude took my hero & popped the whole thing in the microwave. YOU DONT MICROWAVE BREAD. (btw the bread had a funny taste) Ffs get a few people who know how to make a sandwitch in there. Never again.. I should have just ordered my lunch...

Starting from the fresh Mozzarella and continuing on to their fresh pastas and sauces Caputo's always delivers. Well not actual delivery, but you get my point. Anyway, my absolute favorite thing in this store, outside of their stellar staff, is there sandwich shop. It does take a little imagination as they dont have a sandwich menu, but with a little experimentation you can make some of the most delicious lunches in the neighborhood from there ridiculous selection of meats, cheeses and fresh cooked vegetables.

The second time i got a regular mozzarella and it was the worst I’ve ever had. It was given to me in a container with none of its natural water inside, so by the time I got home it was already dried up from the inside. The walk home was just 5 min. The mozzarella was excessively salty on the outside and flavorless and dry on the inside. It’s hard to believe this is considered “fine Italian food”, especially for the high prices. You can find better mozzarella at Eataly or even any other...
