Carnegie Market — Local services in New York

I love this store. Warning: I used to be a westerner so I maybe a more sentimental New Yorker than most. I live in the neighborhood and have watched this store grow from when it was a small corner store. It is clear that the owner puts a lot of love into the store. It has some of the best prices for the neighborhood (96th-82nd), this includes basic groceries and health food. The selection of products is impressive and caters to different cuisines and diets (vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free). They also have a section dedicated to freshly made products. Their lemon dill hummus is fantastic. I love that I get to discover new products. My latest discovery is the Maya Kaimal Soup Tomato & Warm Spices, a tomato soup and dessert in one.

The people who work at this store are kind and uplifting, from the stockers to the clerks. I believe the positive environment says a lot about the manager and owner of this place. I shop here for the good food, good prices,...

Today may 28th 2023, my second experience at the CARNEGIE MARKET at 1245 park ave, new york, ny 10128. Immediately upon entering the market, there were a tall gentle man that works or own the market starts following me, by the way am black african american. He follows me to every isle while am at the market. The first time which was last week may 24th 2023, I took it as he just happened to be browsing the same isles. But i went in there again todaay to prove a point, and I was correct. RACISM is very previlent at that market, ther were other poeple in there that were not african american, and he paid them no mind. But kept stalking me, I confronted him about the matter and he had the nerves to tell me he was not following me. I WILL LOVE IF THE NECESSARY AUTHORITIES CAN PLEASE LOOK...

What a great find! I discovered this wonderful market walking home one day. I stopped in out of curiosity and was floored! It’s exactly what I would want in a health-oriented market. Spacious space, helpful, knowledgeable staff, a huge selection of healthy, organic, and vegan foods and a down to earth, hip vibe with cool music playing. Foods are carefully curated and with a great coffee selection. Well stocked store and clean. Good prices. It’s a pleasure to shop here! Now I don’t want to shop anywhere else.
