Please read this. This is what they are really saying at the salon! I have been to this nail salon twice and each time i left feeling unsatisfied. I am chinese and can understand mandarin and fuzhounese, languages they often switch back and forth on in the salon. But i never told them i can understand both.
The first time i went, i wanted gel with chrome. I asked the nail tech if they offer chrome and they said yes for $5 extra, i was pleasantly surprised and i said ok great! add it on. They then said in chinese, i should have charged her $10 by her reaction. A little underhanded, but i ignored it because they didnt ask for $10. When it was time to put on the chrome, it looked like packed glitter. I had a purple base and the chrome covered it completely with silver powder. This does NOT look like the nice chrome manicure i had when i walked in. The nail techs talked to each other about the powder and they dont seem confident in their products. One lady said I cant remember which one is used for chrome. After I told them, this doesnt look right, the lady told me that their chrome is different from the chrome i had coming in.(what does this mean?? lower quality?) I left with just my base gel. if they can't do chrome/dont remember how to, dont offer it.
That was a few months ago, yesterday was the second time. This time, i just needed a regular french manicure. The chrome incident, i understand, its a new trend. French manicure? Every tech should know how to do it if they work in a nail salon. No. It was a different nail tech this time. When she drew on the first french tip, it was uneven, and extremely thick. It was a big long lump on the tip of my nail. I showed her a picture of a french and told her that it needed to be rounded near the edges. I asked if someone else can do it and she laughed. Another nail tech came by and she said, in chinese, it looks good to me! My nail lady then asked her if she can take over. She said im too scared to do french and walked away. By the time she tried on the 3rd finger, it has been 1.5 hours already, i needed to go. it was so ridiculous. I left without a french manicure. These ladies dont know how to do any sort of design besides painting a base color. They charged me before they started the manicure, so i dont ruin the paint, and they couldnt give me my money back because i paid with card.
beware beware beware, i grew up fuzhounese and i know all they want is to make money. They will hustle you time after time. Dont come here for more than a base color, they will not know how to do any...
Read moreI was looking for a good quality, 4+ star nail salon and I've found it! I walked in at about 1.15 but the chairs were all filled. Was told to wait 10 minutes and it was about 20 minutes, but I didn’t mind at all. I was a walk-in. I had gotten the dip powder service. Two of the workers, one of them Effie were absolutely sweet and eager to assist me. I didn't ask for the other person's name, but she was lovely too. Effie was gentle, friendly, and did me just right! I had put my phone away in my pocket and the two times it rang, Effie sweetly went into my pocket to retrieve my phone since my nails were covered with cotton soaked with nail polish remover and aluminium foil. I found that to be sweet and thoughtful of her. The place is clean and a wee bit smaller than what I'm used to but still comfortable to me. All in all, I travelled far to get here and I'm glad I did. This Nail Spa House will be my new...

My feet are to be treated delicately. I had to stop my conversation three times to acknowledge the pain, and ask the nail tech to adjust her technique.
My gel nails, which usually last three weeks, started chipping off 4 days after they were painted. 5 days later and 3 nails are chipped.
After the nail tech finished my manicure, she gave me a rough back massage; a message she didn’t ask my...
