My experience at this Citibank branch has been overwhelmingly negative, and almost all of it stems from one employee: the man who sits in the middle cubicle he sounds like he’s from New Jersey. From the very beginning, he gave me and my partner the complete runaround when we tried to open an account. We were there for over an hour with no progress, and it wasn’t until the manager finally stepped in that we were able to get it done.
Since then, every interaction with this particular employee has been a problem. He is consistently rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. Most recently, I called the branch six times in one morning with questions about my account nobody answered, and he hung up on me. No apology, no effort to assist, just pure attitude and disrespect.
I don’t understand how someone with such terrible customer service skills is still employed. This person makes the entire branch look bad. If Citibank wants to retain customers, they should seriously reconsider who they allow to represent them at the front line.
I regret trusting this branch with my money, and I strongly urge others to go elsewhere. This is not how any customer...
Read moreI haven't used my account in a month because I've been using my Chase joint account with my husband. I've banked with Citibank for 17 years and considered keeping the account open despite the nagging voice that said, "Just close it." I knew I only had $8 in the account anyway.
Then, this morning I noticed I was charged $35 to cover a $10 auto-payment I'd forgotten I'd set up through PayPal, and then I was charged a $35 overdraft fee to cover the $12 Citibank monthly service fee. What? So, to cover a whopping $2 they charge me $35. And to cover the $12 payment TO THEMSELVES, they paid THEMSELVES another $35.
I'm absolutely closing the account today and telling them that they've lost their minds. I still can't get over it; they paid themselves $35 to penalize me for a payment to themselves of $12. The insanity of...
Read moreThe worst bank so far that stole my $650 cash because there was $100 returned payments on my credit card and the call it bank’s decision. This is after 5 years of being a customer they decided to thank me for that. Oh yeas their customer “don’t care” didn’t even apologize for that. All they keep saying that it was in banks terms and it was bank’s decision. Let me translate it to human language - bank that makes billions of dollars decided to punish its customer who have been with this bank for 5 years for returned payments no more than $100. This is how banks make money. First they offer mythical benefits but when it’s time to pay it they just don’t do it. This is zero...
