What can I say ... the process of finding a wedding officiant can be super difficult, the ceremony is such a massive part of the wedding, and I had searched and searched and searched to find someone who was what we felt would fit our wedding vibe classic wedding vibe, who could approach this matter with seriousness but also with a touch of light heartedness and from the first phone call with Peter I knew HE WAS GOING TO BE JUST THAT. after that first phone call, he sent us a draft of the wedding script, and we edited a few things sent it back, and also needed his expertise on wording for a few others. The script was nailed down in just a few emails! The day of - he showed up early, and ready to deliver! At the ceremony he was captivating and eloquent. His voice is strong yet soft spoken, he sounds kind and caring, Peter annunciates and has a way with his words. In short - he is MEMORABLE. and who wouldn't want to remember the most important day of their lives. My guests HONESTLY could not stop talking about how wonderful the ceremony was. Some said they've been to so many weddings, and often time the ceremony is boring or drab, and that they found themselves truly listening to the words he was speaking. In addition to this we had a few mishaps (being a public setting, prospect park boathouse) with park goers being a little loud and honestly disrespectful (shouting at us from behind us, I think the guy was drunk lol) , Peter did not bat an eye, but instead rolled with the punches, and worked it into the ceremony - relaxing myself, my husband, and the guests. lastly, I remember that I wanted to ask Peter to step out of the way for our first kiss, so that we could have those photos with out the officiant in the background . naturally, with all the stresses of wedding planning I forgot. However, Peter did this on his own ... a true testament to his professionalism, expertise, and consideration. If you are looking for an officiant who is kind, caring, and captivating, that has a passion for what he does and clearly loves love - look no further! you have found him :)

Peter was the best officiant I've ever worked with! (This is my second marriage, so that's not a totally strange comment. :) ) Peter responded to my online inquiry within an hour, and was very easy to work with regarding scheduling a time for officiating our ceremony. He has Venmo payments (among others) set up, which makes things super easy and convenient in these funny times. We requested just a license signing ceremony - no traditional wedding speech - but Peter still said some beautiful words to make it feel more special and less business-like, while still keeping things short and simple. We were also surprising our witness, and he asked ahead of time if there was anything he'd like us to do to have him play into the surprise, and then went along with it perfectly. Our witness was surprised and giddy with excitement for the rest of the day, and I fully attribute that to Peter's officiation of our ceremony. He mixed humor and sentimentality together beautifully, and made the day so very special. I will absolutely recommend him to other friends of mine, whether they're getting married over Zoom like we did, at a socially-distanced outdoor wedding, or at a bigger traditional wedding one day when this pandemic is over. It's also worth mentioning that my laptop was doing something very strange, trying to pipe the sound in and out of my external monitor, and Peter was incredibly patient while I tried to figure that out (thankfully my now-husband had seen this happen before and fixed it when I called him over). Peter kept talking while we figured it out so we'd be able to know when the sound was coming through correctly, and laughed it off with no issue. Is it really a good wedding if *something* didn't go wrong? Haha!

We discovered Peter after watching his wonderful Central Park wedding videos on YouTube, and were instantly drawn to his calm and friendly demeanour. From our very first conversation, he made us feel completely at ease. Around a year before our wedding, we had a Zoom call with him where he guided us through the various ceremony and location options — and even took care of reserving our preferred spot in the park. Peter really took the time to get to know us and understand the kind of day we envisioned. We trusted him to take the lead, and despite only meeting over Zoom once, he delivered a ceremony that felt incredibly personal and meaningful. We're from Scotland, and Peter went above and beyond to incorporate thoughtful Scottish traditions into our ceremony. From a handfasting to a traditional blessing, and even finishing with a wee dram from the quaich — it all made the day feel that much more special, and like a little piece of home. He even managed to include a touching mention of our beloved dog, Napoleon. Would we recommend Peter to be your officiant? Absolutely — a hundred times over. Thank you again for making our day so memorable. With love,
Mark & Rebecca Reilly xx

A Perfect Wedding Experience with Peter!

We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Peter as our wedding officiant. From the moment he responded to our initial inquiry, he was prompt and enthusiastic, setting the tone for a smooth and pleasant process. Peter's warm demeanor and genuine interest in our story made our initial Zoom meeting delightful. After that, the decision to choose him as our officiant was easy.

Peter's familiarity with our wedding venue, the Wythe, added an extra layer of confidence for us. His service included a custom ceremony, officiation, and license signing – a comprehensive package that proved invaluable.

Two months before the big day, Peter presented us with a beautifully crafted first draft of our ceremony, complete with alternate reading options that resonated with us. He seamlessly incorporated our personal touches, making the ceremony truly unique. Peter's assistance in choosing a unity ceremony was pivotal; his enthusiasm and flexibility shone through, especially when we opted for a blind contour drawing exercise. Not only did he explain the ritual eloquently during the ceremony, but he also volunteered to manage our drawing supplies, demonstrating his adaptability and professionalism.

On the wedding day, Peter was a perfect blend of professionalism and humor. He skillfully shared our story and guided us through our vows with a wonderful sense of timing. His ability to scout the ceremony layout ahead of time and offer suggestions to maximize the beauty of the scenic rooftop setting showcased his quick judgment and attention to detail.

Peter's friendly and flexible nature made him a joy to work with. He looked impeccable on our wedding day, effortlessly fitting in with our guests and the venue. Beyond his officiant duties, Peter intuitively positioned himself for optimal photo and video opportunities, capturing the breathtaking Manhattan skyline.

We wholeheartedly recommend Peter as an officiant who goes above and beyond to create a personalized, memorable, and joy-filled wedding ceremony. Thank you, Peter, for making our day...

Peter married the love of my life and I on a beautiful day in April 2018. I found him online through a simple google search and really hit the jackpot. From the beginning, I knew he was my type of guy. Even before we met, I could tell through telephone conversations that he was articulate, professional and accommodating.

When I first contacted him, he was on vacation traveling but nevertheless remained accessible via email and would respond in a timely manner to various questions. I explained that I was looking for something short and sweet at a private location in Manhattan. His cost was $500 which I thought was very reasonable after having spoken to several other officiants in the city. When we first sat down for a pre-ceremony coffee meeting, Peter was as advertised - professional, thoughtful and knowledgeable.

At the ceremony, Peter was punctual, well-dressed and totally prepared with legal and other paperwork. For 30 minutes before we began, Peter joined in conversation with a small group of my family members and helped us take pictures and maintain an upbeat and friendly atmosphere.

His life story is fascinating - he was an actor and massage therapist before becoming a wedding officiant. His presence was a major asset to the entire event. He was personable yet respectful and only sat with the family when invited. My future in-laws seemed very happy with our choice of officiant.

The words he chose for the ceremony were just perfect and he incorporated the family members names’ who were in attendance. We all appreciated what he said so much that we asked for a copy of the words which he e-mailed to us within hours of the request.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Peter and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is in need of his...
