We recently attended a performance at the Joyce Theater and decided to have a pre-show dinner at Marsanne. We entered the restaurant about 10 minutes before our reservation time and were greeted by a very friendly hostess who asked if we would like to wait at the bar or be seated immediately to wait for our friends. This thoughtful courteousness is indicative of all the service at Marsanne.
We were seated at our table and attended to right away by our waitress who was as courteous as the hostess and made sure that we had water and were offered drinks. In particular, our waitress asked if we were attending a show and what time the show was. She assured us that we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal with our friends and get to the show afterward. Again, very thoughtful service demonstrating a keen awareness by staff of the typical needs of their customers. Our water glasses were never less than half full during our dinner thanks to the very attentive service staff. We ordered our meals and they arrived in short order. The food and presentation was absolutely first rate and portion sizes were generous but not ridiculously so.
The restaurant itself is quite new (only about a year old) and is a bright, contemporary, very pleasant place to dine. Unlike so many restaurants these days, there are plenty of soft surfaces that absorb sound well and we were able to easily converse with our dining companions. There was an issue with the toilets in the women's washroom but hopefully that was just a temporary aberration given how new this restaurant is.
This is a very upscale restaurant and the menu prices reflect this so if you're looking for cheap and cheerful, Marsanne is not your ideal destination. If, however, you're looking for a masterfully prepared, stupendously delicious meal and some of the best restaurant service you're likely to experience no matter what you pay then book a table at Marsanne....
Read moreRecently, I was privileged enough to dine at Marsanne and felt that every aspect of the place had surpassed my expectations. Nestled in the heart of Chelsea, this dining outlet offers an elevated dining experience just perfect for any occasion, be it a girls' night out, a night out with the one you love, or a special celebration. There is nothing less than magical about the ambiance within Marsanne, as the stylish, sophisticated decoration installs a pleasant romantic atmosphere. There are three separate dining rooms and one dining bar in the restaurant where one can watch these skilled chefs perform their magic. The menu happened to be Mediterranean-inspired, and each course we had was a showcase of the chef's skill and flair. Rich in flavor and absolutely delightful, the Mushroom Risotto was stunning, and so was the Truffle Polenta. The handcrafted cocktails were just as impressive, with the Disco Sour something else-a refreshing mix of passion fruit, plantery rum, mango, and egg white. The Flavors of Tiramisu dessert was so well-plated, it was almost too pretty to eat, but that first bite had me right up to tiramisu heaven-light and fluffy. Service was great, and David, our server, made some great suggestions of dishes that we absolutely loved. The service staff was very courteous, while the service was swift-just what was needed to make our dinner even more memorable. Their wine list at Marsanne is quite extensive, and the grilled octopus was done very well. I could tell from the food to the atmosphere that this place does not leave any stone unturned and is definitely one of my regular spots. Can't wait to return for brunch with friends and sample more of their delights. Very highly...
Read moreLast night, I had the pleasure of dining at Marsanne Restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, with a modern decor that set the tone for a fantastic evening. But what truly stole the show was the incredible food and outstanding service. Faroe Island Salmon, which was cooked to perfection. The salmon was rich and buttery, with a silky texture that just melted in my mouth. The flavor was intense and fresh, with a hint of sea salt that added depth to the dish. I was impressed by the quality of the salmon, which was clearly sourced from the pristine waters of the Faroe Island. I opted for the Vegan Risotto, which was a delightful surprise. The risotto was creamy and rich, with a flavorful sauce made from a blend of mushrooms and herbs. The dish was expertly prepared, with a perfect balance of texture and flavor. I was impressed by the chef's ability to create a vegan dish that was both satisfying and delicious. Amazing Service Outstanding wine list!
