My visit to the CityMD Jamaica location on June 19, 2020 was appalling. I required a physical for my license and my PCPās office was still closed due to Corona. I was told an urgent care facility could help me and my assistant found this company.
I am a NYC employee and I just started my 4-day RDO (regular days off), coming off a 10-day straight schedule. Upon my arrival, the location was pleasant and very well maintained. I was greeted by the receptionist who was very professional, courteous, and patient during my registration process.
When I was called, I was greeted by the doctorās assistance who took my vitals and completed my blood work. While my blood pressure was elevated, I informed the assistant that I forgot to take my pressure medication that morning, plus I informed her of my work schedule. Additionally, on my registration forms I noted all the hypertension medicines that I have been prescribed to me and I have been maintaining a normal pressure for over four years now.
All was going very well until Dr. Dimtry Ilyevsky entered the room. Upon his entry, he began to yell and berate me for no apparent reason. I was immediately taken aback as I was trying to figure out what would warrant his behavior. As we began discussing my vitals, he became increasingly disrespectful to me ā the new patient ā and he did not afford me a normal toned exchange. Dr. Ilyevsky did not allow me to address my elevated vitals, instead he continued to aggressively address me as if I was not worthy of respectful, professional exchange
As Dr. Ilyevsky continued to speak to me with his disrespectful tone and I began to push back and ask that he speak to me in a professional manner. Dr. Ilyevsky did not relent and continued to debase me without cause. Within ten minutes of the exchange with this doctor, I become increasingly aggregated and thought it was best to leave without completing my examination.
In all my years of being a medical patient, I have never, ever, ever had such a horrible experience with a medical doctor. This doctor was beyond unprofessional, his behavior was despicable, and he should not be in direct contact with any patients.
Ultimately this exchange with Dr. Ilyevsky increased my blood pressure and caused me unnecessary stress during a simple task that was required for work.
I cannot express my extreme dismay with this company for allowing such a person to be a member of its staff. I regret being a patron to this establishment, if I could give it minus 5 stars, I would.
I would not recommend this Jamaica location or this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAll staff were courteous; that said, the young lady who did my V/S noticeably entered the room donning gloves and when asked if they were clean, she stated that she just changed them which was very questionable. Health Professions do not enter a pt's room donning gloves but instead after greeting clients, tell what will be done, performs hand hygiene then don gloves. Covid19 is going around and the staff were visibly walking around the hallways wearing gloves entering different rooms. Gloves must be changed after each patient-staff interaction. Proper Hand hygiene is a simple effective way to prevent infection. Dr. Seet/Sarit (Indian-looking) was warm and courteous, however, I did not visit a patty shop. Time MUST be spent properly assessing a client during a physical examination. A ROS does not involve auscultating only my aortic and pulmonic regions for cardiac and then posteriorly only the apex of my lungs for respiratory, palpating my abdomen WHILE I am in semi-fowler's position (in no distress), asking me if I had any abdominal pain & then the assessment is complete. Other areas pertinent to those subpar systems assessment were not even assessed. Cardiac, GI and Respiratory assessment includes inspection, auscultation, palpation, percussion ( no percussion in cardiac) with sequence varying according to the system which I am sure all physicians are aware of. What about my other systems? I voiced my concerns to him but he was out of touch with my concern about the short, incomplete, poorly done physical. I told the front desk staff I do not want that physical assessment. Negligent treatment like what I experienced often results in abnormalities being undetected or unnoticed. We have to show compassion: lead with our hearts, always thinking of what we would like for ourselves or our families. Time must be spent with clients ethically performing one's duties and addressing clients' concerns. It should not be about money and hurrying to see as many clients as possible. It takes a special love and dedication to care for others and this seems to be so lacking a lot of times. We must thrive to treat each other with dignity, compassion and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the worst experience Iāve ever had with a doctor. Rajkumar, Robert MD was very dismissive and disrespectful he would not let me explain my condition, he was rushing and dismissed everything I said. When he finally entered the room he asked me if I had a fever I said no I havenāt had one yet. While I was explaining the back and forth Iāve been through with doctors for the same condition he was not listening and was talking to the nurse in the room, he then tells the nurse to prescribe something that was already prescribed to me before and has not worked. I then tell him oh Iāve had that before it didnāt work for me and then as I try to explain the other medicines Iāve had he then interrupted me and said āwell what do you want?!ā never in my life has a doctor asked me that and also in such a rude way! As the only person in the room with a PhD itās his responsibility to tell me what I should get and explain why I am being prescribed the same thing. I then told him āI donāt know thatās why Iām hereā he then goes back to talk to the nurse and tell her to send it to the pharmacy. I am literally about to cry as I just lost my father and and also not feeling well and did not expect to be disrespected in a place where I thought i would be helped. My mother and I then went to the front desk to tell them what happened, the nice person in the front desk (no phd) (I really wish I knew his name) then explained to me that sometimes if one medicine doesnāt work it doesnāt mean that it wonāt work if I try again then he reassured me that I can come back if I still donāt feel well and Rajkumar, Robert MD will not be there. He also apologized for Rajkumar, Robert MD actions and said that the nurse in the room also mention he was very rude and dismissive to me. I appreciated the nice man at the front desk for explaining that to me as Rajkumar, Robert MD didn't even have enough care to do it.
5 stars for the nice man at the front desk!! 0 stars for Rajkumar, Robert...
