So while I can say I’ve only shopped at this location a handful of times, I’ve never had my bag searched once, let alone twice in the same shopping session. I came initially to return a few items (I accidentally purchased short sleeve button downs and needed long sleeve for work along with a few items that didn’t fit)and came in with the reusable bag I purchased the day before. I brought the items to the register and got my receipt for my returns. Before I began shopping for the items I needed, I asked one security guard to open the door to the bathroom for me. He said I need to leave my empty bag at his post before I use the bathroom. The bag was completely empty aside from the receipts from my return. I come out of the restroom minutes later just to see this security guard had gone into my bag and was inspecting my receipts with who I assume was a manager. She was trying to explain to him that it’s a reusable bag and I probably just did a return. She seemed nice and I explained that I just did a return and I needed to get some button downs. We laughed about it and I even said ā€œwhat he thinks I’m stealing?ā€ I didn’t realize I was under suspicion from security for shopping with a reusable bag, let alone be subject to my bag and receipts being investigated without me even being there. I wanted to leave after that but the manager seemed really nice and I figured the security guard was just being anal. I got two button downs and 2 pairs of slacks. I paid at the register and started heading out. Before I even made it to the door, here comes another security guard asking for my receipt. I gave him my receipt and he then told me to open my bag so he can make sure I only have what is on the receipt. He starts rifling through the items I just purchased and unprompted goes ā€œyou know , because you came in with that bag earlierā€ What is the purpose of selling reusable bags if they make you a target in the eyes of security? I’m not going to go as far to say this could also be racial profiling because I’m young and black with an Afro but when you have a team of all Indian security guards who immediately look at you as a thief because of what? A reusable bag that the store SELLS? What do you call that? Even when the bag was completely empty the first time what do you call that? What was the reasonable suspicion for looking at my return receipt while I’m in the bathroom? Sneaky and weird security man. Im so disappointed. I will say, the manager and the register girl Skye were very pleasant. The staff at primark stores usually are. I have never had this happen before. I also usually go to other locations. I will say, have some sensitivity training when you hire certain people after opening a store in a predominantly black neighborhood. Spent over $200 in two days there. Will not spend money here again.

Assistant sales manager Mohammed didn’t want to return a faulty clothing item even after we displayed corporate policy found online . He publicly embarrassed us and wouldn’t accept what is right and wrong. When I was asking for information of the general manager he wouldn’t disclose their information.Corporate has been notified of his actions.

I love primark, great prices, inventory for the whole family. I found some great items. Of course with this store being on Jamaica Ave it was very crowded that weekend and it was a bit overwhelming having to step over merchandise thrown on the floor.

Opening day was Dec 1st, 2022! A much welcomed new addition to the NYC retail scene! It's MUCH more accessible than the location inside the Brooklyn mall, King's Plaza. I've been to the mega locations in Europe (Madrid, Amsterdam) and this location is much smaller than those. There are a ton of clothing basics (bodysuits, sweaters, long sleeves) but it dwarfs in size of its European locations (I'm still super happy we have a Primark though). All departments are here including women's, men's, kids, baby, beauty (super small selection of color cosmetics), home (one of my favorites), sleep, shoes, bags and even a seasonal section with holiday gifts now! There's even a travel section with suitcases and accessories. Prices are super affordable as expected! They were heavy with the Disney collaborations if that's your thing. Marvel, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Paw Patrol, it's amazing! Unlimited # of items u can bring in the fitting room (high tech system of zapping your room tag and putting the # of items you bring in. There is a public bathroom with a security guard sitting there making sure u leave your basket with him, and he needs to put in the door code. Tons of cashiers at the counter to move the line along. I'll definitely be coming back!

Brooklyn City Point: location opened Dec 21st, 2022!

Queens Center Mall: Primark also signed a lease here! Methinks it will be taking over the former H&M space šŸ‘€ No idea when this will open, probably in a year but...

On the 06/08/2024 I went to the Jamaica Location. I finished shopping and was exiting. This man says, "Excuse me, I stopped he ask for my receipt. I thought it was the usually check receipt. Then I notice he was not stopping anyone else. Then I realize I asked him why are u only checking my stuff and r u saying i am thief 😤. I was so upset. I said let's go to the cashier he ask why . I said because she cashed everything. I was going to refund everything. Then I remembered why I went in the first place. I've known about primark before it came to NYC. My sister lives in the UK and use to purchase a particular bra in this store doe my other sister in Canada šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ . So she ask me to get it for her. PRIMARK your security guard or whomever was on the phone who told the guy to stop me is incompetent and unprofessional and obviously stupid because he wasn't paying attention and the real thief left the store of there was any in the first place. Or is this prejudice or discrimination because I was black. There was no other race been search. I feel discriminated against. I'm going to talk to a lawyer about this. Was so disrespectful. There was no apologies or nothing. I also see other comments geared towards prejudice ans if that's so qe gonna cancel PRIMARK. Your clothing is cute but not durable and will soon fall off with...
