FRAUD
This place stole my insurance information and used it to bill my insurance for a service they did not provide. The manager Roman yelled and cursed at me and then hung up on me, after acknowledging that he billed my insurance for a service they did not provide. He is NOT the owner of the establishment, but he and the other associates refuse to give contact information for a direct report. There is no way to speak to anyone else or to receive any further assistance. They also lied to the insurance company about the date of service with the glasses they did have a right to bill for. They obviously forgot that they send out text messages when glasses are done, creating a paper trail for dates of service. Needless to say, the insurance company has requested and received this proof and has begun the process of taking the money back. This is a crime, this is fraud- and they will be stripped of their ability to be a provider for Medicaid/Medicare. They have also been reported to the state department that deals with insurance fraud and are being investigated. Avoid this place at all cost. This was after they broken my glasses and took a month and a half to replace them. Also, the contact lens fitting fee is a SCAM. Don’t be fooled. If you have worn contacts for years, this place will try to charge you a fee every time you want to reorder contacts. They will try to tell you that a contact lens exam is different than a regular eye exam, however their own optometrist told me years ago that this is not true. I paid this fee for years and they never once “fitted” me in the contacts that I had been wearing for 25 years. This time I went to a real optometrist office and they of course did not charge me an additional fee to give me a contact lens prescription that I could fill where ever I wanted, as an eye exam is an eye exam. And of course the optometrist allowed me to use my insurance for the exam where Coco’s would refuse to let me use my insurance and made me pay out of pocket if I wanted contacts in addition to glasses. THIS IS A SCAM. If you do not want to deal with a fraudulent business that is actively committing crimes, if you do not want to spend hours for days on the phone with your insurance company trying to rectify the fraudulent charges this place has billed your insurance for causing the insurance to not pay for actual services that you did use at other places- then avoid this criminal...
Read moreOn March 30th, 2024 I called the store and spoke to Carla. I asked her for six months worth of contacts just like I had purchased prior back in October/ November 20204 I asked her how much did I pay back then she told me I had paid $85 she told me the price went up to $100 this time for the six month pack so I agreed I paid her $50 over the phone and when my husband went to pick up the contact lenses on April 5th,2024 my husband paid the remaining $50 balance when my husband came home with the contact box I noticed that it was only six lenses meaning only three months worth of contact lenses I ordered six months worth of contact lenses not three months. When I called the store on April 6th 2024 and spoke to the manager, she was very rude! She said that I had misunderstood. Therefore I went on my home cameras to listen to the conversation that I had with Carla to make sure that I had not misunderstood and in my cameras , you can clearly hear when she tells me that the last time I paid $85 and at this time it would be $100. The manager did not offer no solution all she said was that if I wanted six months worth of contacts I would have to pay $50 more . This is absolutely ridiculous. They are not willing to take any responsibility for their employees false information. I would never pay $100 for three months worth of contact lenses that’s ridiculous. This is a very shady practice. I hope other people benefit from my review and don’t get scammed like I did. They should own up to their mistakes and give me the remaining 3 months of contact lenses not just tell me too bad!!!!! They will go out of business soon if they continue with this shady practice! Sadly the owner must not even be aware of how his/her employees are treating customers. Especially given the fact that I was a...
Read more12/8/2022 Tuesday (Dec. 6, 2022), I went and picked up my new glasses from Coco's vision. My insurance paid $200, and I paid an additional $88. The young lady there was very polite. She told me if there was a need for adjustments, I could go back, and they will make them. I realized that the right side of the glasses was slightly tilted downwards, and two days later, Thursday, December 8, I went back to Coco and asked them to correct the problem. The technician there told me he could try to fix them, but if the glasses broke, it would not be Coco's responsibility. I will have to pay for the replacement glasses. After all, he said, he was going to do the work for free and out of courtesy. I took the glasses and left. I preferred defective glasses to no glasses at all. Customers should stay away from there. I will file a complaint with the NYC Department of Consumer and Workers Protection and the NYS Office of the Attorney General. To the best of my knowledge, Ethan Faraonov is the owner and "technician" in this place. Roman Faraonov is Ethan's father and "manager."
Not only did they provide me with faulty glasses and initially claimed they would repair them, but they also placed the burden of responsibility on me if any damage occurred during the repair process. To compound the issue, they charged me $88 for the service, only to discover later that my insurance co-payment should have...
