Times are tough during COVID-19. So it’s a special thing when you see a new restaurant try to open up in the area. After the closing of the old pizzeria Polito’s in this spot, I felt really warm inside when I saw them putting up signs for a Slice pizzeria in the same location. From the outside, the place looks very sleek and welcoming. It also really helps to draw people when you have a great deal like they do where you get a slice and soft drink for $1 if you follow them on Instagram (IG). My wife and I decided to give it a go on a cold 🥶 Saturday winter night. When we got in we popped out our IG’s to show we’re following them. After doing so we went ahead and placed our orders. The special only gets you a regular slice, so we also got pepperoni slices as well. They had to make a fresh pie because they ran out of regular slices, and the wait time was a bit more than I expected (15 mins). Notably, the cashier gave the proceeding customers a punch card. I had to be proactive and ask him to give me one. I think they can do a better job here of consistently offering the card to all customers. Eventually we got our slices and soft drinks and were on our merry way. The pizza itself was really good. The sauce is definitely on the sweet/tart side of the pizza sauce spectrum. The cheese and crust are definitely classic NYC style and on point. The pizza is definitely a greasy one, and it’s something I really like in pizza. Drop by this place! It’s conveniently located by the R steinway station.

For my first visit I was quite impressed by the quality of the food in comparison to the price. I ordered as part of their daily specials, the pasta with truffle gravy and an order of homemade chips. Can you believe it only came out to $7?!!! The pasta dish was so delicious and had plenty of truffle gravy. And not many places idea truffle gravy on their menu. The homemade chips were nice and paper thin with just hint of salt and pepper. The restaurant itself if very cute with about four tables. There's also an outdoor area in the back. I can't wait to go back and try other items from their menu. And like I said they offer daily specials Monday to Friday. I'm already planning on getting the Wednesday special which is a choice of hero sandwich.

Got the grandma pie and the margarita pie, and both were pretty good. 🍕Grandma pie was good. Flavor was pretty good, sauce had a decent tang, only criticism I would say is that the dough is a little on the chewy side with not too much crisp. But overall solid grandma pie. The basil on top also gave it some nice flavor as well. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give their grandma pie an 8.3. 🍕The margarita was very good. Nice delicious thin crust. Lots of flavor. No flop. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a solid 8.8. ♦️Will def order from them in the future. If you’re in the astoria area, def check them out 👍

Awful cheap pizza. Terrible customer service. Ignored when I walk in. Only customer. Ignored when I say hello. One word replies. Ask if they have margarita slices. " no " Aak if he's planning on making one. It's 3 pm. Answers again rudely, " no " . So your not gonna make another margarita pie for the next 10 hours your open ? Again says " no " 3 questions about the pizza. 3 words answered back. Then I ask him " should I go to another pizza place ?" He don't even answer. Just shrugged I start to walk out.

Then some fugazzi manager Asks what's the problem. ? You dont have margarita slices. And he says he won't make one. Fugazzi manager replies " we aren't making a pie for one slice. " So this dude thinks he won't sell the rest of a pie that's already sold out lol. This place is awful. Run by the rudest people on earth. Best part is i walked by 30 mins later to get food from another store. And this clown has a fresh margarita pie on display. I cant imagine how these two guys can hold their position in the store with how they treat hungry customers. I can only assume he didn't want to make it because I asked him too. Like don't tell me how to do my job attitude.

I worked in a very popular pizzeria in queens. They never let a pie get sold out. They'd make another when 1 slice was left. These guys aren't that smart. They let the pie get sold out. Then argue with that one unlucky customer who wants it. And then makes the sold out pizza 15 minutes after that customer leaves.

Ill never spend another dollar in this establishment. The owner should be furious because I live on the block and spend 400 a month there

No more. Train your staff. Stop losing customers.

Too the owner. My visit was on Thursday the 24th at 3pm. Have a word with the people representing your business. They really need to be removed.

You lost 4800 a year over the laziness and unprepared style of your workers. Do you think having a pie cooking while there's one slice from prior pie remaining or wait till it's gone so you can tell a few random customers to basically kick rocks up steinway.

Mind boggling behavior.

Here's a hint. What's better ? " sorry we are currently out of margarita slices , but one is in the oven and will be ready in 7 minutes Or No margaritas Not gonna make one Go somewhere else.

Smfh Both workers refused to give me there name. So. That's how this place is...

So I was trying to order sum pizza for myself and 2 children just for a quick bite. So when I entered, there was a different guy there- tall, Spanish & RUDE- one I had never seen before because it’s always the girl or the other Spanish guy. While placing my order he had a very condescending and sarcastic response. I ordered couple pizzas and he immediately said “well I only got two” that was the only thing he said, while staring at me emotionless, then it crickets and everyone started looking around at me as if I did something wrong. Honestly, the way he glared at me was almost the same as in those creepy movies when people visit a small town & the residents are not too keen on welcoming outsiders into their little community I got that exact feeling from him.

So I’m standing there thinking to myself, well is he going to ask if I wanted to wait until more pizza is finished? But to no avail, still crickets. So I was like okay then, & I proceeded to exit. He sarcastically said “well bye” and I’m thinking what just happened because it was super awkward.

So my take on that was racially inclined. He was very unfriendly and unwelcoming from the start, and from the looks of it he just wanted me out of there because I was not the same skin color or “race” as him.

It sucks that I had not thought of taking his photo for this post. I will never take my business there as long as that person is still working at...
