If you want to KEEP YOUR TEETHSTAY AWAY from this dental practice!
You will pay for multiple consultations and be advised by a "specialist" that a root canal on one tooth is needed. After the root canal, you will be sent home with no aftercare instructions beyond scheduling a three month followup. When you report to the office - for four days - that you are experiencing complications - swelling, pain, fever - you will be ignored. For four days, .On the third day, you will be told to go to Urgent Care (??!!??). When you finally get through to be seen by a dentist you will be told that a massive infection has set in, 2 front teeth are dead and require immediate, emergency extraction You will be sent to an oral surgeon who is in network when he works at Coliseum on every other Saturday, but is out of network on Thursday. You will pay twice as much, up front, for oral surgery that is out of network. You will spend the holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years - recovering, eating only soft foods, with a gaping black hole in the front of your mouth where your teeth used to be. No smiling in the family photos, please. (Don't want to be the toothless hag that scares the little ones! ) Coliseum will initially confirm that mistakes were made: the failed Xrays and 3D scans, the emails, voicemails and phone calls that never made it past the front desk, delays @ the Urgent Care referral and its followup. The upfront overpayments and "emergency" out of network surgery referral. Coliseum initially confirmed that mistakes were made they would absorb the costs to extract the permanent teeth and replace them with fakes. No more biting with the front teeth, you will eat a pizza slice with a knife and fork for the rest of your life. But of course, those verbal admissions of wrong, and the assurances that Coliseum will "take care" of the related expenses evaporate into thin air. You will LOSE TWO MORE TEETH due to the infection. Coliseum will refuse to release your medical records so that you can seek competent dentistry to replace the FOUR LOST TEETH. Coliseum will refuse to return your OVERPAYMENT for the root canal on the one tooth (cash up front only, please), which caused the LOSS OF FOUR TEETH. So in addition to the loss of 4 permanent teeth, the pain and discomfort, and the many months of toothless disfugurement, you will have to file a Grievance with your insurance company to try to retrieve the overpayment. So that is how a simple root canal can turn into the LOSS OF FOUR FRONT TEETH at Coliseum. And cost you an estimated $20 - $30K, over the next year, to put some reasonable facsimile of teeth back in the front of your face. The friendly (and attractive, it bears saying!) staff at Coliseum may be great for cosmetic dentistry.procedures if that's what you're looking for. I couldn't say. But if you like your real teeth and want to keep them....stay away from Coliseum.
Here I am missing my 2 front teeth. I eventually also lost the neighboring 2 teeth from the root canal infection that...
Read moreI have been their customer for a year. They normally do a good job but this teeth extraction experience was not pleasant, mainly because of the after-surgery medicine pick-up.
Before I left the clinic, a lady from front desk gave me a prescription and said she would call my pharmacy (a Walgreen near my house). My friend has been waiting downstairs and when we arrived my Walgreen store(12 PM), people at the pharmacy said no one has called for me. I said thatâs ok, I have a prescription. Pharmaceutical people said it would take 20 min and we decided to wait. When we went back in 20 min however, Walgreen told me the prescription was incomplete (quantity is missing) so they couldnât do it and they tried calling Coliseum Dental but no one picked up the phone. I called Coliseum immediately. The first time I got a message saying itâs not their business hours (it was 12:48 PM, Thu, not a public holiday). I tried for a second time. it was picked up but Coliseum put me on hold for 9 min (I understand this part as they could be very busy and 9 min was not that bad). When people at Walgreen pharmacy explained the situation and asked if Coliseum could send a digital prescription, Coliseum wasnât able to do that and because pharmacy doesnât accept prescription update through a personal phone(I used my phone to call), Coliseum would need to call back to update the prescription. They did, and when I finally got my medicine, it was 1:40 PM. It turned out that the prescription that Coliseum gave me not only misses the quantity but also misses some medicine.
When I was eating some yogurt back home, I found something hard in my month and it was a small piece of my teeth.
My friend waited for me in the car from 12:00 PM to 1:40 PM during medicine pick-up, which is why I am so upset. Maybe I missed something, but if Coliseum could have noticed my pharmacy in time, we could have picked up the medicine once we got there.
Maybe Coliseum tried calling at least once. But if they failed for the first time, did they retry?(note there was about 1 hour gap between when I left the clinic and when I arrived at Walgreen) Why was the prescription incomplete? (missing the quantity and certain varieties) If they couldnât reach out the pharmacy for some reason, could they let me know? So that I wouldnât waste the first 20 min and was told the prescription is incomplete.
The dentist who did the surgery is a nice person. I appreciate his hard work and his encouraging words during the surgery to help me relaxed. Just finding a remaining piece of wisdom teeth isnât expected. But thatâs not the major reason why I am upset.
The 2 star is only for todayâs experience but not the previous treatments I...
Read moreI found out about this dental office on Instagram. I have had 2 years of dealing with an infection and wanted a second opinion. I called the office 2-3 times and spoke about my condition to a rep. Everyone I spoke with was nice and then I asked for a consultation. I went in July 7th, 2020. office was super clean, staff was nice, they even took my temp before I got comfortable. So why the low score?
After spending almost 1.5 hours there and speaking to two dentists, I was given the unfortunate news that I would most likely have to continue work with my current dentist. The owner (I believe) also spoke to me about other procedures I could get done there. I was told I was done and to head to the front desk to get quotes for the services we discussed . I was made aware ahead of time that they do not accept my insurance. That isnât the issue here. All was good until I was told I owe them $150 for the consultation. WHAT???!!! I do not remember at all ANY mention of a $150 consultation fee. I was under the impression this whole time this was a free consultation. I would have never ever ever agreed to it and canceled my appointment right then and there before going into this office. I asked the front desk if they had mentioned this on the phone and said I was under the impression this was a free consultation. I was told that it wasnât free because I saw a specialist and not just any dentist ( which explains the fee) and that she did mention it over the phone.
I was livid. I do not recall ANY mention of a $150.00 fee. I know myself. Who in their right mind would spend $150.00 on a consultation? This information should have been disclosed and CONFIRMED when I got my confirmation and multiple calls/texts. I just waisted a whole afternoon on information that was not helpful. I do not have extra money to throw around at dental offices for second, third, and fourth opinions.
Just be aware that if you go in, make sure consultation is free or at least it is discussed in detail and get a confirmation of what you will be discussing and with whom. I not only lost money, I had to cut my work hours short on Tuesday for this office visit that resulted in 0 results. Not everything works for everyone. I canât speak to their dentists and nurses. It looks like this place has a good reputation but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I need clear and upfront communication, and not be taken advantage of financially especially during a pandemic when people...
