We have been to this place a few times. The last one, only a few days ago and it's going to be the last one.
One of the times, having dinner there, the waiter brought the check when we asked for it. There was no gratuity included and we gave him 2 credit cards to split it. He came back with two receipts to be signed but the original receipt had disappeared. I was about to mechanically add a gratuity and then sign, when my friend realized the numbers showed that they had included a 18% gratuity in the second receipt without telling us, but the concept wasn't shown in it. It really looked like they wanted us to pay 2 tips.
Another day, we were having dinner there before going upstairs to dance. Men have to pay $10 to enter the dancing area, but that day they told us that we wouldn't have to pay if we showed the receipt of the dinner. And it worked.
Knowing that, we went a few days ago with some friends. There were 4 of us and we were sharing four appetizers. We also ordered some drinks. Once we finished eating, we ordered the check. It was $150. My friend paid it with a credit card, but I forgot telling him to keep the receipt. A few minutes later, I realized about it and told him. He talked to the waiter who said that we had to pay the $10 to enter the dancing area anyway, because we hadn't ordered any entree. That's not true because the first time we went, we didn't have any entree either.
After talking to the waiter, my friend went to talk to the girl who is assigning tables at the entrace. She said they weren't doing that anymore. When we went up to the dancing place, I told it to the man at the door. I explained him that we where having dinner at the restaurant but we forgot to ask for the receipt and that the waiter refused to give us a copy of the receipt. He said that I had to bring up with me the waiter who had been serving us. What? Finally, I paid the $20 for both of us because I didn't want to go down again and make the waiter come up. A waiter who clearly was doing everything he could to make us pay the extra $20.
By the way, that day, 2 of us got sick with the food.
About the dancing place, I have to say it's quite reduced and there are tables mostly empty, reducing even more the dancing space. If you try to have a seat and rest a little, there is always some waiter coming to ask you to order to be able to use the...
Read moreLast night my friend celebrated her birthday with a party of 16 and the waiter (kind of heavy set) came off very rude as we asked questions or needed more time to order because it was a large party. The total bill was $800, yet there were a few drinks that were added to the bill that should not have been added, when they originally told one of my other friend's there wasnt a specific drink at the time. The bill was not updated well as the last 3-4 people attended the table. The waiter was coming off rushing the guest to order and then when the food was brought out and youre asking the waiter questions (like more napkins or another drink) he was seemed overwhelmed by such a huge party. When it was time for my friend, the birthday lady to get serenaded with the "happy birthday song" he puts the sombrero on the wrong person and I had to keep telling him from across the table that " its the wrong birthday girl." Other issues included that night: the $3.00 plate charge for using their plates although, my friend brought in her own birthday cakes (again the entire bill was $800, so in my opinion that was insane) nor was she told prior that there would be a charge for the plates when she asked the restaurant about bringing the cakes from outside. I called them personally 24 hours prior to make sure we can split the bill into groups in which they said yes, and the waiter kind of have a hard time with that as well stating that we cannot seperate into groups, then we tell him that I called the day before and hes like yes you can. Lastly, at the end of the night most of the party started to go upstairs to one of the dancing floors with their individual receipt and the security dismisses them and tells them they have to enter with the bill of the entire party. I think that is extremely ridiculous. Between the waiter and his non customer service friendly demeanor and certain policies with the restaurant I will never be attending Iguanas again. The only thing I can say is the food was good for the most part. But for someone who has had 27 years of food service experience the waiters demeanor was very nasty and I refuse to go there to eat whether it be a huge party or a two...
Read moreThis review is for the iguanas Club, not the restaurant. Terrible Service and untasteful music! I been here 4 times now and I'm not planning on coming back. The service in this place is horrendous and everything is very desorganized. We entered the main door, they asked for ID, checking our bags etc. Get ready for the mayhem that starts to develop on the second floor with little stairs that gets all crowded of people to check in and out and people leaving the club. Then we go upstairs they checked us again. Mandatory coat check and they will be bugging you to leave your purse and leather jacket too! That's absolutely unacceptable. So we went to the dance floor and the crowd is trashy and mostly old guys looking for young gals desperately. The music is terrible and the DJ don't know how to read the crowd to put tunes that appeals to them. Most of his music choice was bad and I can just basically leave my phone and play my own Spotify playlist to help him chose the best tunes for this trashy club.
Music got bad upstairs then we decide to go downstairs...more old people and trashy music. When we went downstairs the security people checked us again and asked to throw away our water that we actually purchase upstairs in the SAME place! And then to leave our jackets! I got very frustrated and heated! This is just insane and unacceptable that you having your customers checking more than 3 times in the same place! Come on now! We asked for a manager to understand what's going on with this and he gave us a very stupid and not logical reasoning "We don't know who is coming in and out and we have to check customers again" really? Then you guys spend some dollars in little bracelets so when people come in you guys identify who already did the check in process because this is ridiculous. Even inside the place when you already leave everything they still bugging you inside to take off your jacket. You guys gonna keep losing customers and you guys deserve less than 3 stars. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, go to a better club and have some real fun! RIP...
